like they were looking for some underground entrance, then they randomly found it.
then 5secs later in the next scene, they blew up the ground without any scene of them setting any charges.

The latter. It was super predictable and they went about the war in about the dumbest most backwards way possible.

Even when they found a way to prevent the war, they still went about it in the dumbest, most backwards way possible.

It has neither a bootstrap paradox nor alternate timelines, it's just time travel is magic and there are no real rules.

it was edited like the explosives were already set in that area even though they had just arrived there for the first time.

The entire time it bothered me... If all these people from the past are now getting slaughtered, wouldn't that already be changing the future for the worse? Or Muri's memories of her father change the moment he jumped? Smells more like a new timeline was kreated than "travelling between 2 points on the same river".

I saw in the other topic that they only recruited people who died before the war started, so they weren't altering the timeline of the war.

The time travel is pretty basic in this movie. It's almost exactly like Trunks.

When they arrived in the past, the timeline split. Pratt and the others going into the future were merely doing what Goku and Vegeta did in Super.

But you're still altering the timeline by sending people in the future to the past to change what is the future people's past aka history.

In muri's timeline, her father died at 16, left at 14. In the timeline of young muri, he was drafted when she was 9.

You're making changes

I enjoyed the movie but still; just dumb to send people to the future to fight a war that is lost. You need to go to the past to fix your mistakes and prepare better

wouldve been more effective to send supplies to the future
eg. oil, batteries, ammo, food, water, medicine

I was enjoying parts of it, and then the last 30 minutes happened. Luckily JK Simmons was there to soften to pain.

The writing in the movie is all over the place, but the logic behind what the team does in the last 30 minutes is so fucking baffling. Unless I missed something (I probably did?) Chris Pratt and his team of...10 people? Almost doom the entire world 30 years before the events actually take place. Reminds me of the girl pressing the button at the end of Jurassic Park Fallen Kingdom, potentially dooming hundreds of thousands of people to deaths by the claws of wild dinosaurs

but in that timeline where he left he still got drafted. the original timeline the humans lost and the aliens took over Earth. when he came back and they killed the spikes in the ice they created a new timeline where humanity wouldn't be wiped out. but everyone else still really died in the original timeline

The only part that really bothered me was when they brought the queen alien to the base where the time travel machine was, knowing the males will come for her.

Like, why bring her there of all places. Take that bitch to the middle of nowhere.

It was one of the worst movies I had ever seen. Like, the last whole part of it should have been cut. It made no sense at all and that was after an hour and a half of a bunch of other things not making sense. It was crazy bad.

I will say however, that this movie takes an absolute steaming dump on the trash fire that is Infinite starring Mark Wahlberg (released by Paramount+). It's not amazing (or even that good) by any means, but it deserves an Oscar compared to that thing
