Xiao DPS is so fucking stupidly strong I can't believe I ignored him for so long. He's essentially got Kazuha's elemental skill on rapid fire. Jean on the same team makes it so he never has energy or hp problems. His actual skill itself also does so much damage and has a stacking damage buff. I am definitely going to go for Xiao constellations on rerun.

Apparently Xiao is the highest DPS in the game if you have C4 Jean

I kinda doubt it coz allowing Jean to have constellation also allows others and most dps tier lists ignore constels. C6es can be pretty insane like Ganyu firing 2 uncharged frostflakes at will.

Jean's C4 raises Xiao's base Anemo damage by almost 2x

Okay, I looked into how Kokomi's kit works and decided.
Ayaka (main), Kokomi (heal, sub, hydro applier), Ganyu (burst subdps, ranged enemies), Venti (gathering, cryo shred).

Sacrificial catalyst (skill reset, energy gain)
2 Millelith, 2 Heart of Depth
HP, ATK, HP%, HP%, HP% (substats: recharge > HP+ > elemastery > atk%)

Her skill seems to deal very significant consistent damage, but her normal attacks are garbage without burst. Her burst refreshes her skill and makes her a dps for a bit, but probably not worth it until you have her banner 5* limited weapon.
She covers healer, subdps and hydro applier, making her the absolute best hydro char for blizzard groups.

I should think again what I want to do with Sayu now that there's ANOTHER powerful healer in my group. I guess I'll stick with
Tartaglia, Fischl, Sayu, Klee?

The skill is on a 20 second cool down and probably not worth to use sacrificial sword because that has a cooldown of 16 seconds so you're losing a lot of potential damage just for a quick burst. Might be okay for clearing out hilichurl camps but if you were gonna do a serious investment I'd suggest Royal Grimoire (especially R5), Prototype Amber, or Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers.

I don't think any enemy will make it through the combination of the 4's damage, and in long fights you will likely have Skill -> Sacrificial Skill -> Burst Refresh -> Skill -> Sacrificial as a full rotation.

Kokomi has permanent 0% critrate and ATK% is a minimal benefit to her. I think Royal Grimoire is the worst possible choice?

Thrilling is a very good choice for short fights, yes. Amber can be a good lower tier option too, I think.

I meant Royal for maximizing DPS. If you're going to use her as a hydro applier, then it's less important what you'd use but I think prototype amber probably wins for helping keep Ayaka's burst up.

It's not the attack you're buffing but rather the crit rate to offset her horrid -100% penalty.

I don't think it is possible to offset Kokomi's negative critrate.
You'll spend so much effort getting 95% critrate, but then you will still be at 0%, you will waste artifacts on blizzard set, waste a weapon slot and still have no critdmg.

Kokomi looks like someone who wants to completely avoid critrate & critdmg and that's likely because Mihoyo designed her to deal so much damage she'd reach what you'd normally do with 150% - 250% critdmg

It's really a good idea from Mihoyo, gives us some variety from the usual "dps only want critbalance" meta mindset

Frankly, I think they should get rid of crit damage as a stat and have a set Crit DMG multiplier (like 1.5x or 2x)

For some characters, it would disincentivize crit as a stackable stat and allow for focus on other stats like energy recharge

No longer possible coz it's a middle finger to all meta slaves and would raise a Zhongli-level shitstorm.

However, knowing Mihoyo, we might see some kind of stat changes that lead to getting more benefit from other stats over critdmg. Just like Mihoyo is very, very slowly giving us some benefits to use healing over shields, like they gave us elemental mastery rebalance.

Holy shit i have good luck on the weapon banner. Got Homa on my first ten pull ever on it and now just spending free primos from Inazuma got Mistsplitter.

I dont really care about pulling Ayaka but its gonna look nice on my Keging.

I don't think they're going to suddenly create the very first zero constellation character like that. Maybe they will either come prefilled or you unlock them through the crossover event stuff? But then again, who's to say that they can't break the mold with a zero constellation character?

it's a random free char and her base kit is already good enough considering everyone gets her.

tbh right now I don't know what scales better for Kokomi, HP% main or Hydro DMG% main. That damage multiplier on skill is huge.

...well, I just thought about it carefully, you can sneak a HP% substat on it and it can upgraded a bunch, but you can't do Hydro DMG% substats.
I definitely should use Hydro on goblet.
