Oh hey, I've been waiting for this nom to come up!

I'll give it a 9/10. Episode 8 is an abomination, so I can't give it a perfect score, but I don't know that I've ever really been gripped by a story, waiting for each new episode with such great anticipation, quite like I was with Umineko. It was just a great experience reading it and coming up with all sorts of theories.

First time I played through the Question Arc is an easy 9.5/10. My memories are retroactively soured by what the answers were, though.

To give credit where it's due, Episode 7 is very good.

I don't think so. I think most people think there's just a drop-off in quality in the second half.

They're technically released as separate games, but they're essentially one long story. I'd almost say doing all 8 games separately would make more sense than doing them as two arcs.

If you're curious about release: each of the 8 episodes was released separately, and then compiled later into Umineko (first 4 eps) and Umineko Chiru (last 4 eps).

Oh I missed this.

Not actually rating since I don't think I got far enough to do so, but I probably would have given it like a 7. The feeling I got was that there's a really, really strong story at the core of the game, but that there's too much screentime spent on inane BS for it to have the impact that it should.
