I think it was one of the best of any anime this year and one of the best in the history of the Precure franchise. It was that good. If the final episode of Magia Record S2 hadn't been delayed and replaced by a recap episode today, this could have been one of the wildest Saturdays of anime that I've ever experienced. It was definitely (unintentionally) the Precure series most relevant to real-life events, considering it was essentially about healers fighting against evil virus monsters and it aired during an actual, real-life global pandemic. Kinda wanna see that. >_> Yeah, Interstella 555 or something like that. I finally finished a couple of anime I've been watching for a while: Fist of the North Star and Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card. I actually finished FOTNS like three weeks ago, and only the first 109 episode series. Despite having tons of filler and recap episodes, I enjoyed the series quite a bit. The scenes of Ken wrecking people using Hokuto Shinken miraculously never got old or less fun to watch, despite happening multiple times an episode for over 100 episodes. Despite the repetitiveness sometimes, the coolness of the characters and concepts in the series kept it enjoyable throughout with a only few slow stretches. All three Hokuto brothers were really cool but Toki is definitely a standout. Overall I'd have no issues giving the series a solid 7/10. Will watch second series and movies/OVAs sometime later. Clear Card I actually watched the first two episodes like months ago but finally watched the rest over the past three weeks or so. I heard it was pretty boring/uneventful but I found it relatively enjoyable. It was nice to see all the characters interacting again and Akiho was really cute. I actually found that the plot building up in the background was interesting, and I wanted to see what Kaito had planned. ~~I expected the cliffhanger/non-ending so it didn't bug me too much, but it's definitely a minus for the show that it's main plot didn't resolve at all~~. There were also way too many cooking and eating scenes, and I'll acknowledge some episodes were on the duller side despite enjoying it overall. I'd give it a 6/10ish. It's an adaptation of an old ~~eroge~~ visual novel about a trio of bodyguards, Elise McGaren and the sibling pair of Kyouya and Miyuki Takamachi, protecting a famous singer on a concert tour whose life is being targeted by a group of assassins. https://i.imgur.com/n7LImFe.png https://i.imgur.com/fI7OIrh.png https://i.imgur.com/YxOU1X6.png If the art style looks familiar to anyone and the Takamachi name sounds familiar to anyone, it's because their younger sister and her separate spin-off series made by the same studio went on to become way more famous and successful than this OVA starring the rest of her family... https://i.imgur.com/ZYYIgES.png ...but this isn't about her. The OVA was actually pretty solid in its own right. The story was interesting but obviously underdeveloped due to the short episode count, the action scenes were cool, and the animation was pretty good at least by 2003's standards. Apparently, one Japanese network got a version of the episode with unfinished visuals and a scene where some of the dialogue was extremely distorted to the point where even Japanese speakers couldn't understand it. Meanwhile on our side, Funimation uploaded the version of the episode with the correct visuals/audio, but the lines that were distorted in that unfinished version of the episode had no subtitles in Funimation's release, which makes me think they only had access to that unfinished version while they were making the subtitles. So now a third of the episode has dialogue but no subtitles for it until Funimation goes back and fixes it, and that means I can't even watch that season finale until it's fixed. Apparently, one Japanese network got a version of the episode with unfinished visuals and a scene where some of the dialogue was extremely distorted to the point where even Japanese speakers couldn't understand it. Meanwhile on our side, Funimation uploaded the version of the episode with the correct visuals/audio, but the lines that were distorted in that unfinished version of the episode had no subtitles in Funimation's release, which makes me think they only had access to that unfinished version while they were making the subtitles. So now a third of the episode has dialogue but no subtitles for it until Funimation goes back and fixes it, and that means I can't even watch that season finale until it's fixed.
