I haven't played GTA Online in a while just curious if it's still fun and what do people do these days for money and fun?

It's easy to get money now with the Cayo Perico heist but I'd say it's more boring now because of it.

I have a lot of fun with it but it is not really a game with a ton of goals. I made it my goal to purchase every Ocelot car (one of the manufacturers) and also to remake all of the cars from Initial D, one of the very few animes I watched.

Aside from that, the game is about buying nightclubs, garages, houses, bunkers, clubhouses, auto shops, and all that. I got about 20 mil in my account so I can buy just about anything and the game is pretty fun. How far have you gotten in the game?

I got $2.8 million online and I havent played for a few years

If you have not already, buy either a CEO office and a vehicle warehouse if you are going to be playing alone, or a nightclub if you are going to be with friends so you can run the casino heists. You can basically print money with those things.

The autoshop is also good since you can do everything in private mode but the payouts are not as good.

buy the submarine and do the cayo perico heist, that's the best current money grind by far and can be done 100% solo

You could do this as well if you are into that but personally I feel the Cayo Perico takes forever to complete.

Yes very different. The autoshop has three ways to make money.

1. Customers will occassionally bring their car to you, you have to customize the car and deliver it. Works exactly like the warehouse.
2. 10 cars a day will be on a board and you gotta collect them and deliver them to the docks. 20k each car, an extra 100k for doing all 10.
3. Contract jobs which are basically mini heists. 2 set ups and the heist mission. about 185k per heist.

Also, you can customize your cars here, you get a 10 car garage included. Just dont buy any employees or a car lift, not needed.

Oh and certain mods like chrome tuner wheels, classic paint jobs, and other stuff are FREE which is nice. Especially the rims because some of them are like 50k or more I think.

Do people still do the heists where people gather in the apartments?

I love GTA Online but I have tried to get into it again and every time I get frustrated at the modders and just give up. Plus I never have anyone to do the newer heists (Doomsday and Casino) with :(

Yes, seems like Prison Break and Humane Labs Raid are most popular for pubbies to send out invites for. There are subreddits dedicated to finding heist crews too.

Its still fun to a point, the new auto shop contracts are pretty cool and pay about $160k to $170k after the cut.

Arena war is fun if you can find a lobby, be sure to by an arena workshop so you can get arena points which unlocks all kinds of outfits and discounts. The arena war cars are cool as hell too.

The LS car meet is hit or miss sometimes

Not to mention the actual heist itself can be done in 15 minutes or less.
