She met him after a theatre performance of Asterix the Gaul in Japan. Now they're moving in together and so she wants to introduce you to him. But once she arrives your jaw nearly hits the floor when you open the door and discover he is some kind of weird slimey tentacle monster. Waddling along next to her. "Hey Dad! This is Garbarlyx. So glad you finally get to meet. Isn't he great?" she says. How do you react? What she's doing with Mr. Tentacle Man in that photo is actually called a "cringetator", although I'm not sure how many people who are not me call it a "cringetator". Cringetator? I don't think I've ever heard that word before. I've seen that photo, but I didn't know what she was doing. In my opinion, to hug someone means "to be close to someone", but to hug a male (especially a monster or another person) is like "to kiss him". I think a "cringetator" is someone who hugs someone else in that way. A tentacle monster would be a rather odd choice of partner for a teenage girl. A "Cringetator" is someone who gives you a hug and then kisses you on the lips or on your cheek.
