Thank God for home warranty cause our particular model of hvac uses a proprietary motor that normally costs $600. We only have to pay the $100 deductable. The datacenter company leases power and internet to their customers(us). Basically a server rack has two whips each in different circuits. Each whip has a surge protector connected to it that can handle up to 24v I believe. Each piece of server hardware generally comes with two power supplies so a power cable goes into each surge protector. Then it's a matter of making sure each surge protector doesn't run more than 12v at a time in case of fail over.
