I think we should keep this to Z levels when talking about Dragonball. Super goes absurdly overboard in terms of power.

Things like time and dimensions being causally broken, universes being wiped in a second, endless voids being shaken. At a certain point it gets too much.

The Z fighters can all sense ki and attack a vast area from a distance. Besides, given how much saiyans eat, I imaging that part of them is rather powerful.

So considering the original teams (Avengers at issue #4 IIRC, Z Fighters at Piccolo Jr. + Roshi):
Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp, Cap
Goku, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, Chiaotzu, Roshi

Interesting match-ups would be:
Goku/Hulk or Goku/Thor, for night time transformations or trading Mjolnir/Kintoun. IMO Goku could win on one but would lose to the other.

Yamcha would draw on Iron Man, I don't see either of them doing well in a tournament.

Krillin would be one of four to capable of beating Ant-Man, and of three to get Wasp. He'd draw on IM/Cap, lose to Thor/Hulk.

Chiaotzu is their best wildcard and the craftiest fighter. He's the other one to beat Ant-Man+Wasp, could beat IM and maybe finish Thor after Goku, would lose to Hulk and Cap.

Roshi is the third one that could handle Ant-Man straight up, might/likely lose to Wasp. He could probably beat Hulk with Mafuba. Cap would win against him, he'd draw on Iron Man, lose to Thor.

Tien's most even match is Cap, worst would be Thor. With his skill set, he's the most likely to sweep--I think Dodonpa would be lethal against Iron Man, Shiyoken or Multi-form for Ant-Man/Wasp, and he'd probably be able to win Hulk on a technicality with Solar Flare. IIRC Mafuba would be an option at that stage, too.

Maybe tony could make a ssb gogeta buster suit with ultra instinct and hakai features

with goku: the z fighters get their ass kicked easy. Then vegeta sorts out some of the jobber Marvel guys like Hawkeye or black widow but then gets demolished by hulk and Thor. Then goku shows up, acts surprised that vegeta got his ass kicked and proceeds to ssj + kaio-Ken and genki dama them for a win

Well, since they have access to God Ki now which is a whole different pool of energy, I'd say still pretty damn strong with or without normal Ki.

Historically, Stark is the best possible engineer. Given enough time, I'm sure he could do this. But not mid-fight. Reed Richards, for example, is the best theoretical physicist, and could come up with with some sort of anti-ki field in like an hour (and strange could freeze time to let him do it). Stark usually needs help blending his tech with anything that seems like "magic."

Thor, however, could figure out how to absorb ki on the spot. Any Kamehameha type thing would just get sucked into Mjolnir instantly and used against them.

People saying Thor need to look up Gokus fight with Moro. Goku and Vegeta are so OP now, theyre writing out crazy plot lines for them to have competition. Dude became one with the earth and still lost to Goku

Thing is, even an enraged Hulk isn't capable of tagging Vegeta without a convenient plot mechanism. The speed difference is just too crazy. It's the high-level magic users like Thor, Strange, or Wanda (if she's around) that are absolute team-wreckers if given enough time.

The likes of Iron Man and below might hold off the likes of Krillin and below for a while, but that isn't the level on which the fight will be decided.

Zeno is overpowering in such a fight. As are Whis, other angels, Zamasu, Granola or even Jiren, Hit and other Super characters with game-breaking esoteric powers. But this is just DBZ, so we don't have to worry about them.

Dude became one with the earth and still lost to Goku

Thor solos Ego, the living planet. Mjolnir has more than enough feats to let him resist esoteric bs like Moro's comparatively petty magic. But due to power-scaling, he really doesn't want to deal with DBS characters in general. They'd be way too fast and strong. It would be like fighting a army of Thanoses-or-better.

Like, SIlver Surfer was once an Avenger, as was Sersi and peak Wanda. Either one could feasibly solo DBZ Earth with ease. The problem is that if they manage to make the gods and angels from DBS notice them, things change very quickly. Now, if Sentry was on the roster, he would have an interesting chance against a DBS character lower than, say, Zamasu.

Hell, Odin and the Ancient One have been retconned as the first avengers. No one who uses martial arts as their main mode of fighting wants to deal with that.

I'm still saying Ultra Instinct is a total different plane of power than the Avengers. I'm pretty sure Ultra Instinct just beats magic. If someone tried to cast a spell to stop him Goku would just ultra instinctually punch their head off.

I think it says a lot that most of the arguments for Avengers comes down to "If you gave them all this time to plan ahead and they build an arbitrary science device to make DBZ powers not work" as though the Z fighters have never planned ahead before and using your brain is part of the Avengers' unique power set. The very first arc of DBZ is a year long training & planning session.

Goku was PL2 at birth, with an average human adult being 5. Since Goku is in near peak physical form, let's be generous and say PL15 without Ki.

I'm pretty sure power level is the measure of Ki, so saying someone without Ki has a power level doesn't make sense?

In terms of using technology to limit Ki, there was a genius scientist named Dr Gero who's life work was creating artificial ki generators and absorbers, but there's always a limit to the bandwidth of technology, and Vegeta was able to destroy Android 19's arms while he was being drained. And that was newly SSJ1 Vegeta without God Ki or Ego or anything, and now he's some arbitrary number times stronger than that like a trillion. And UI Goku is like a whole plane of power stronger than him.

I just don't see how the Avengers can even get some hits in.

The whole point of ultra instinct is to react without reacting. Goku would be landing punches before anyone on the Avengers even knows what their own next move was going to be. Gokus attacks as ultra instinct are literally faster than the process of neurons moving to muscles to cause an action. No magic is stopping that either.

His precog isnt omniscient, and the Avengers, depending on the roster, may have many wizard-types with auto-hit and/or planet-wide AOE spells that could catch him before he teleports away. Especially if he's busy dodging FTL swipes from Mjolnir, which Thor now controls with his mind.

Although I am fairly confident Goku could solo everyone you listed, you're also forgetting that he has another God as his teammate. While Goku's simultaneously knocking the teeth out of Thor and Strange, Vegeta is solo'ing the rest of the Avengers.
