If you look at it logically, without Vegeta, it isn't guaranteed that Goku would have trained with King Kai and learn how to use Kaioken, meaning he would have never beaten Frieza. He would have moved to the after life and been cannon fodder to Pikkon.

I've never seen Dragonball, but I constantly see Vegeta-based usernames and almost never Goku-based ones, so this seems like a common opinion.

But Vegeta is the better one. Much smarter than Goku.

Prefer who you will, but I'm not seeing the logic here. Veg has made a number of impacts that saved everyone's ass, but if you play the "without him" kard on Goku instead, the planet would've been fucked long before Raditz showed up and Vegeta would've remained Frieza's bitch.

Goku literally has brain damage.. chill. despite that, he's done some pretty awesome things for the people he loves even though he doesn't quite understand how to express it properly.

Goku has a passion for fighting and training Gohan is Goku's love language, but he really doesn't know what else to do with him lol.

The logic is simple. Goku sacrifices himself against Raditz. But without Vegeta there is no reason for him to travel snake way to meet King Kai to learn Kaioken. Without Vegeta Piccolo also doesn't die, thus they never need to go to Namek, which means they will never meet Frieza unless he attacks Earth. Frieza gets the dragonballs, and tortures a namekian to learn how to use them, thus no one will be able to beat him.

I think you missed the basic point. Without Goku, that devil prince would've preceded his konquest of Earth, either Pilaf or the Red Ribbon army will get the Dragon Balls (leader of the latter has a silly wish, but either that slips out and he gets overthrown by someone with worse ambitions, or he gets his wish but his army becomes a civil war for wasting their time). Not entire sure how kapable the demons were, but then there's the Piccolo Senior and his army that easily wiped out all the world's best martial artists including Roshi. ... Yeah, before the Saiyans even think of invading Earth, the planet is already fucked and Vegeta spends his life being one of Freiza's minor underlings. Only question is which bad guy becomes unstoppable first.

Bottom line being the konsequences of Goku never existing are higher than Vegeta not existing. Plus it's game over either way, so this is a silly way to measure who's "better".

Where did the point go to Goku not existing? The point was Vegeta not existing.... Without Vegeta Goku still arrives on earth, because up until the Dragonball Z timeline it wasn't established that he was a Saiyan, only that he was an "alien". Toriyama didn't bother to expand on that until the Z series when Raditz first arrives and meets with Goku for the first time.

Even if Goku didn't "arrive" on earth, then all Roshis attention would have been on Krillin, who up until his teenage years, was a very different character than he ended up becoming. Plus there were very capable fighters up until that point, as everyone in the original Dragonball timeline weren't super overpowered as Goku became during the Frieza timeline. The only real major difference would be that Piccolo wouldn't have been reborn, unless someone managed to defeat him, which was still possible if Tien chose to take him out.

Krillin was kind of an ass. He started off hating Goku, seeing him as inferior and simple minded. Not wanting to lose to Goku was part of what got him through Roshi's training. Removing Goku from the equation would more likely result in a weaker Krillin than a stronger one. And this is assuming they even meet, seeing as Pilaf would've wished himself supreme ruler of Earth in the very first saga.

Plus there were very capable fighters up until that point, as everyone in the original Dragonball timeline weren't super overpowered as Goku became during the Frieza timeline. The only real major difference would be that Piccolo wouldn't have been reborn, unless someone managed to defeat him, which was still possible if Tien chose to take him out.

Tien was about to get killed by Drum before Goku, who is now stronger then when they fought, showed up and saved him.
