One of the best. I guess if I were to nitpick some of the earlier chapters (except the Prologue which is legit) are a bit slow but they're still good. The villains really drag it down, and they tried their best to destroy Agate as a character with the Tita stuff. Somehow I didn't end up hating the sibling romance angle even though I was sure I would, so that's worth about 0.5 points. Other than that the story was alright I guess, didn't blow me away at any point. --- MZero, to the extreme I never saw azuarc coming, but he won the Guru! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Somewhat fitting after the discussion in the FFVIII topic yesterday, but I think what I've always liked about Sky SC in particular is how it manages stories of different scales. You can look at the story through the lens of Estelle as an individual, of the Bracer Guild as an organization, or Liberl as a nation. These all necessarily look different, but the game still manages to juggle them together in a way that makes sense and without sacrificing any of them. And that's not even to mention that every other character has their own goals and journey that still fits in with everything else, and almost all of those are just as compelling. (Sorry Zin...though even you get some cool stuff in 3rd) There's also tons of real character growth and thematic content which that ties into, but I think I'll stop here. --- I didn't do guru this year but azuarc can be in my sig anyways. ... Oh, dang, I missed FFVIII? Weird, I could have sworn the topic I saw yesterday was a game I hadn't played so I skipped the topic.
FFVIII - Let's say... 7.5. Some amazing moments in here. A few of the chapters are really excellent. A lot of the villains are kind of nothing, and the ending is way shorter than it should be.
