The premiere is at 8PM eastern and 7PM central (the west coast needs to wait a extra 3 hours to watch it at 8PM pacific) on The CW, which is about 15 minutes from the time of this post being made. The show now features adults competing instead of kids and has a new host, but the general structure of the show looks to be the same as it was back on Nickelodeon in the 90's. Oh, and of course, Olmec is back in all his chiseled glory.

EDIT: I'm in the central time zone but I double checked my cable guide and it's saying the show is on at 8 for me. So it might just be at 8 for everyone in the country due to local news usually being on at 7. Or some places are getting it at 7 and some are getting it at 8. Either way, check your local cable guide to make sure what time it's on for you.

Adults being the contestants now would honestly make it less infuriating to watch.

Although, they did have a Shrine of the Silver Monkey at Comic Con one year, and even the adults still had trouble figuring it out

That was fun. I don't think I'll watch it like this every week since Sundays usually have football and/or baseball on, but I could see myself recording it to watch the next day.

I remember reading why it was so difficult. Basically shooting an episode took all day, so the kids were already tired, and then being in the actual temple was really disorientating. The host also claims it's more complicated than it looks because you might not realize a piece is upside down, so you'll try it, figure out it doesn't fit, and then try to use a different piece.

that was.... interesting. i only vaguely remember the original show, but i did recognize a lot of the stuff that i remember having been in the show as it came across, like the quiz round and the structure of the temple. it seemed kinda drawn out though, a bit long. i looked up the original show and it was only a half hour. i think they should have stuck to that format, tbh.

This new version had a lot more conversations with the competitors, which helps give them more personality and might make individual episodes more memorable. I get what they were going for and why they did it, but it does stretch the runtime a bit. Plus, an hour means more room for commercials and more advertiser money, which matters a lot more in a prime time slot on a big network than it does in a daytime slot on a kids channel. If that padding and extra advertiser money helps the reboot last longer and not get cancelled again, then that's fine by me.

I know what it's like to have one of my favorite childhood shows get rebooted only to be canned yet again shortly after. #BringBackRobotWars

Also, the new set looks like it is made of balsa wood or something. It doesn't look good at all. You can tell the budget was low. The button podiums look great though.

Funny I never thought about it until now but voted Silver Snakes because it looks and sounds cool. I'm not the only one.

I'll always defend the difficulty of the shrine of the silver monkey.

Yes, there's only three pieces, but they are in three different spots in the room. The middle piece is somewhat interchangeable, and the statue must look out towards the audience, not to the sides or facing the player. Also, since it's usually in the upper left hand corner, and one of the rooms farthest away from the entrance, by the time you get there, you only have about 30 to 45 seconds remaining on the clock, so you have to solve that puzzle in like 5 to 7 seconds if you even want a shot at making it out in time.

I believe that the four team colors will be cycling out. Reason being that in one of those links, there's a picture of the new set with the Silver Snakes.

Anyone have a video of the teams running the temple?
