In a battle that stayed neck-and-neck all day, Squidward Tentacles wins the first ever Save My Favorite Nicktoon Character contest, with a score of 24-22.

Avatar: The Last Airbender reps were the big favorite to win for just about the entirety of the contest, and sure enough, 2 of the final 3 were Avatar fan faves. But in the end, it's the grumpy squid that ends up capturing the win, placing a whopping 37 positions above his show's title character.

Fun contest! No real issues with how it was run, and I wouldn't mind a sequel (would get me to watch some other shows I don't know, perhaps) though I do agree it might be good to do something else next at least.

Pigeon Man for sure. Although I would also try to get double Dink as far as I could as well. There's definitely a lot that could be done with a SMFNC2. Although I'd also understand if you wanted to run something else next time.

Eh honestly I was fine with most of your snubs list not being in the contest. Phil & Lil, Vicky, Tito and Ginger were the biggest ones I missed. A few you neglected to mention: Henry & June (KaBlam!), Big Bob Patacki (Hey Arnold!), Krumm (Aaahh! Real Monsters), Cat and Dog (CatDog), among other characters from As Told By Ginger and The Wild Thornberrys, and even Hey Arnold, even though that already had a ton of characters in.

I'd say my top 10 Nicktoons are as follows:

That being said, I think I need to give Invader Zim and Danny Phantom a fairer shot than I gave them in the past (both were at the tail end of my Nicktoon-watching days), and I never even made it to Avatar. Interestingly, Zim and Fairly OddParents debuted on the same night, yet I watched a TON of FOP even though I distinctly remember not watching a lot of Zim because it came so late in my time with the channel. Maybe it's because they showed FOP like every other hour while Zim was pretty much kept to its Friday night timeslot. Also Danny Phantom debuting in 2004 seems wrong because I know I watched some of that as well... with that one I'm guessing I just happened to catch it when my brother watched it sometimes and I actually sat through it because it was still edgy enough to capture a 14-year-old who had long-since moved onto South Park and the like.

By the way, were any of y'all aware that the creator of Hey Arnold proposed a spin-off focusing on Helga called The Patackis? Nick turned it down because, even though it would have targeted a teen audience, they felt the premise was too dark to be so closely connected to the source material.

Eventual champion Squidward first came down for an elimination risk in the final nine, where it was him vs. Zim. He also outlasted Patrick on day 70 (which probably wrapped up the win for him as him vs Patrick was close before that). He trailed 5-4 going into the final two but pulled off four consecutive votes. Actually, the win probably was wrapped up on day 72 by beating Reptar in the Iron Man. He was down 8-5 here before storming back to get the edge 10-9. He also outlasts Toph on day 73, although he lead the entire time between the two of them and Toph would've need multiple saves to advance.

No Iron Mans for top ten finishes: Ty Lee, Stu, Toph

Neither Toph or Stu, who I thought might be the actual finals for a while, ever got an Iron Man, and neither did Ty Lee which was super surprising. She would be near the bottom but never actually last saved.

Final Iron Man stats! Fun contest Johnbobb. Good winner. Sad my number 1 and number 2 finished 2/3 but Squidward was in my top ten too so I can't be too mad.
