However, he's seen pacing by the safety entrance. What could possibly have DK so disturbed? He's done really well in this competition so far, he shouldn't be so bothered. But alas, his partner in crime, Diddy Kong hasn't performed as well in the competition but has managed to skate by each round. As more and more characters enter through the safety door, none of them are Diddy Kong, which has DK a bit more distraught than before. DK is then greeted by a face, that's all too familiar. "Hey-a DK" Unfortunately it's not his nephew, but it is Mario, someone who has had a love-hate relationship with his family for a very long time. "Hello Mario" DK grunts. "What has you so torn up?" "Well... no Diddy..." "Ah, don't worry DK, I'm sure he'll make it through." "Yeah, he may be small, but he strong." After hearing DK out, Mario then realizes that he also has a partner-in-crime that's in jeopardy of being eliminated. "Uh DK if it makes you feel-a better, my sidekick, Yoshi, isn't-a safe either. And I'm a bit-a worried about him too. I'm sure he can pull through but uh, you know the more-a people that walk through that door that aren't Yoshi, the more agonizing it-a gets." The two sit there eagerly awaiting for their respective counterparts to arrive. Several people walk through those doors, but no signs of Yoshi or Diddy Kong. "This is-a getting a bit more intense than I had anticipated..." replied an anxious Mario. Richter Belmont walks through the doors and inside the safety zones, the sirens are going off. It's down to the final 2. And much to the dismay of two of Nintendo's biggest icons, neither of their counterparts is safe. And one of them will be eliminated from this competition. "Well-a shit. I really wish that it didn't have to come-a down to this. I like-a Diddy too." "Dino good, but I hope Diddy win." The stage is set for Diddy Kong to go against Yoshi. Diddy Kong starts by throwing a banana, but Yoshi is able to avoid slipping on it. But Diddy quickly does a Monkey Flip, which Yoshi is also able to successfully dodge. Diddy uses several maneuvers to try and hit Yoshi, but he should've been a bit more focused on the defensive side of things as Yoshi is able to use Egg Lay, trapping Diddy Kong inside of an egg and then using Yoshi Bomb to Star KO him and eliminate him from the competition. Yoshi then walks through the safety door to be greeted by Mario. "I knew you could-a make it boy. You just gotta be a bit more careful out-a there". Mario is happy that his sidekick is safe for another round, but notices that his long time acquaintance DK is extremely distraught and goes over to console him. "Hey-a DK. I'm-a really sorry."
