From what I read the average game length is a tick over 3 hours. That's not really any different than an NFL game I believe. The problem to me is that, while in the NFL the downtime is actually used for gameplanning (Huddles), in baseball there is a lot of extraneous time and movement that contributes to a long time. Lots of lollygagging in and out of the batter's box, no adherence to a pitch clock, meaningless arguments between a manager and umpires and making a big spectacle of it...I don't really care about the overall length of games, but the time between just feels empty, it feels lazy. And I don't really see a good reason for it unlike the nfl where they're coming up with the next play. It probably wouldn't amount to much time saved, but it's not about the time but the pace.

Baseball has a very low action rate so I find it incredibly boring to watch on television until the playoffs, when the stakes are relevant and things seem faster-paced in general. Most entire days in baseball can be condensed to a 10-minute SportsCenter recap. And by that I mean EVERY game.

Going to a game, however, is more about the experience. And that can be fun. It's just... I don't go there to watch baseball xD

Also, NBA games are almost an hour shorter, so that's what I watch.
