I see a lot of them around here, they are pretty common, especially on the house in the summer, and in the garden. They look like lovecraftian horror shit but they actually eat other house bug pests and mostly stay out of sight. I would kill them at forst but I have tried to mentally train myself to just leave them be. It has been a struggle but I'm getting there... The best ones though are huge caterpillars and moths. I found a caterpillar during a visit to my parents' house last year and I got full on schoolgirl giddy. I hadn't seen one in like almost 30 years. I was like really on top of keeping the cage clean and leaves fresh for it and checking for signs of parasites (not that I could have done anything if it was parasitised. It would have had a death sentence from before I found it, but I've lost some to that shit in the past so at least if I can see signs early, I'll be let down easy). I've posted pics on CE before but not sure of in these topics. I can a bit later. The moth it turned into this past summer is the largest moth in North America. --- I do not receive notifications, so using the @ feature will not do anything.
