There are some cool CGI, but most of them look cartoony and ridiculous. The dialogue is agonizing.

The short story is . . . uh, something. Boy, is that a thing to write a story about.

I never watched the film or played the games, but the image of that face was burned into my brain as a kid and I still remember it.

That movie is a guilty pleasure of mine.
I remember the tie-in video game being quite unforgiving (or maybe it was just a bad, I was still a kid at the time), still, pretty amazing to see all that stuff in a Genesis cartridge. --- "Your silence was refreshing, while it lasted." ... Copied to Clipboard!

The short story is . . . uh, something. Boy, is that a thing to write a story about. plot summary: Harold Parkette is in need of a new lawn mowing service. The summer before, a neighbor's cat was accidentally killed when another neighbor's dog chased it under the mower. Harold has been putting off hiring new help for the summer, but when he sees an ad for a mowing service, he calls. A van reading "Pastoral Greenery" soon pulls up to his home. The man working for the service, a hairy, pot-bellied fellow, is shown the overgrown back lawn and is hired. Harold is enjoying a rest as he reads the paper, wondering about the lawnmower man mentioning Circe, when he hears the lawnmower outside. Startled, he races to the back porch and sees the lawnmower running by itself and the naked lawnmower man following it on all fours and eating the grass. The lawnmower seemingly deliberately chases and kills a mole and Harold faints. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah it's one of the biggest cases of the film not being ANYTHIG like the movie, although steven kings (Backmans) Running Man was also very different.
Starship troopers also was quite different as a movie, though at least the general theme (killing buggers) was the same. Most of Kings books translated very well into a movie or a mini-series though. He is the author of my favorite mini-series of all time (The Stand), my favorite short novelle of all time (The long walk), and a ton of great films/books. Haven't liked his recent stuff as much sadly (after the hit and run accident pretty much), but the dude is still a genius. --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos." Starship Troopers is actually much better as a movie because of their choice to portray fascism in such a satirical light, imo anyways
