asking someone else for helps opens you up for criticism as you're in a position of weakness

As someone in school right now...asking for help should be encouraged. However, I've been dealing with a lot of people that ask for things rather rudely...I'm not going to 'help' by giving someone the answer; they should be asking me a specific question about a concept or a specific aspect of their network configuration.
