It was not a short-barreled rifle (941.28). This charge should never have been filed. The prosecution knew it was not illegally possessed all along and still wanted the jury to decide on it. Shame on them.

Seems pretty clear cut but man what a dumb law. a 25 inch barrel kills as much as a 26 in. barrel.

It's about concealment, not lethality. And the line must be drawn at some point, otherwise according to your logic, 24 is as bad as 25, 23 is as bad as 24 and so on, until there's no gun left

barrel sizes can only get so small. Putting a stipulation like this on an assault rifle is just idiotic. I dont even give a fuck about Kyle. Hes too much of an idiot, hell do something even dumber one day. Ive moved on to how stupid gun regulations and ability to obtain them are in this country.

It's not "AK-style", it's not an assault rifle, there was no legal conviction or evidence of him obtaining it illegally; and I highly doubt that this law was created so a "white supremacist" could crash your "peaceful protest"

He's been charged, but likely a knee-jerk action like this Rittenhouse case. Given that the possession isn't illegal, it will likely be dropped.

that's just your opinion. obviously, people decided otherwise in the past, and that certainly can be changed if that is necessary. that's a feature of the law. it can be adapted when things/thinking changes

It just seems silly to have even have a law where you say a minor can not legally possess a firearm but then include a loophole where if the barrel is long enough it no longer applies.

I get the concealment argument but it still seems way too easy of a law to circumvent if you're trying to keep firearms out of the hands of minors.
