I really like the way this story is told, being entirely first person and with no time skips. Makes it very immersive. That said, the plot itself isn't super interesting.

Half-Life has by far the most intriguing sci-fi universe in gaming to me, with various tropes that are executed in far more interesting and original ways than your Halos and the like. (Though on sci-fi games, I just bought but haven't played Mass Effect yet). I can't not give this a 10, but I get that the formula has been copied by games like the new Wolfenstein series, that some might argue improve on it. I wouldn't. I also get that the main plot, besides the GMan's role in it, is fairly straightforward. But its simplicity makes it no less compelling to me, and the world and characters (shoutout to the Breencasts) are what elevate it to something special.
