Granted, I think it's much easier to do so at the collegiate level (where I'm lucky enough to find myself), but regardless, no other job has ever given me the sense of warmth and fulfillment that I routinely get when working with my students. This card almost made me cry. Just wanted to share. =)

I get the same job satisfaction fuzzies from library work. Monetary fuzzies less so, but having the local community randomly drop by with food gifts occasionally is heartwarming.

I might still be teaching in the more proper sense if I had tried working at the collegiate level. The act of teaching is fantastic. It's all the baggage that comes with it that's awful.

I love teaching. And I love when my students come back to visit me. It's definitely a fulfilling job, even if the pay isn't always so great. It's why I wouldn't want to do anything else. Nothing like hearing someone tell you that you made a difference in their life.
