Knowing how to physically protect yourself is important, but knowing how to de-escalate a conflict before it can even fully start is just as vital. --- I don't hold grudges. One time, my cousin came to my house after being beat with 2 2x4s. His face was just lumps and blood. He cleaned his face off and then had someone pick him up. I was the pussy of the group that just got by being funny and non confrontational. Even then, I kept my distance as time went on. Leaving my city most the time to party in the boonies. The thought of being around for a street fight made for some anxious moments.
