Bookworm anime is fine, but I'm not too hyped for it because the novels are way better.

Both of them are great in their own way IMO.

Machikado Mazoku is one of my favorite ongoing manga so I'm very excited about the 2nd season. Some really great stuff should be in it.

Also the Magia Record finale, Spy x Family, I think some other things too. Looks like a strong season for anime.

Yeah, that ending to Wonder Egg really died a death. Nothing really happened. I get the "have stuff for a second season" or "watch the manga ending" (whichever one applies here), but you would think after the awesome Frill setup, they would have some kind of climactic finale or crazy fight or some philosophical discussion about dreams and death and shit and...

...nothing. Just a bunch of plotlines they need a few more episodes to explore, but just chucked into one episode and said fuck it. Tacking on a recap episode to the beginning and making it a 45 minute episode of blue balls is really bleh. Still something I'm glad I saw. However, this is really high up there on the "wasted potential" scale of endings.

Piccolo new form INCOMING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Powers up and his skin color goes from green to yellow. Is it happening????

Of all the ways to power up Piccolo giving him an uglier color is probably the worst idea. Its nice hes going to power up, but every Piccolo fans knows it will only let him beat 3rd string goons and get clobbered by the actual villains still. I just hope they keep the movie mostly about Gohan & Piccolo because Goku & Vegeta showing up last minute to save the day would ruin the point of even making a movie focusing on Gohan having to rescue his kid

I do wonder if the Super anime comes back after this movie to animate the Moro and Granolah arcs if it will be full CG like this is

And if they eventually try to pass that off on to one piece as well like they did with the updated animation style after the Broly movie

Piccolo will still never get treated as well as he deserves sadly. Also its pretty shocking Videl hasnt been shown in the movie considering the plot of it. Its looking like she really might not even appear at all much like how Gohan wasnt in the Broly movie.

Isn't she pretty much next-gen Chichi? Not exactly a character used for hype/marketing

She isnt important no, but you could argue her being the mom and wife of 2/3 of the leads means she deserves to be in it more than the likes of fucking Yajirobe and Korrin at least (theyre in the movie). Hell Goten being in it is basically a waste too because hes basically Saiyan Yamcha without any notable qualities

I have been putting anime on the back burner, but Ranking of Kings has been first on my list to finally get to from the first few episodes.

Seeing OP2 for the first time and it's without exaggeration one of the greatest OPs I've ever seen even out of context, and I think I'm going to have to start slamming this right away after I beat Elden Ring.

Thinking of rewatching GITS Stand Alone Complex again (both seasons and maybe SSC). I eventually want to dig out the movies, and even try the Funimation stuff for a change of pace.

But my god, my will after 50 episodes would be tested...

Might be a "watch it, stop for a month, dive back" sort of thing. I love me Ghost in the Shell, but "easy, mindless watch" is not a description for it.

Hey do you guys have any comedy or romance recs from the last five years with 0 fanservice? Got a friend who can't stand fanservice and I am as usual out of the loop. Would prefer something shorter like a season or two rather than on going.

Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You is fairly fanservice light. There's a bit here and there, but not much.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU isn't quite romance or comedy but has some of both.

Kaguya-sama is great for romcom.

For comedy, try Asobi Asobase and Saiki K. There's more good ones, but I have trouble remembering them for some reason.

Interviews With Monster Girls is a little over the five year mark, but didn't have a lot of fanservice. At least nothing overt like Strike Witches or the like. I forget if Helpful Fox Senko-San did outside of the one lady fox with the big boobs who only shows up once or twice. It was a great show that avoided the usual stupid by having a premise that was surprisingly wholesome.

Other shows that were so freaking good the fanservice shouldn't matter at all (KonoSuba) should be mentioned, but that revels in the fanservice too much it would probably be a turn off.

But it's KonoSuba! That's an instant recommendation for anyone anywhere.

Ascendance of a Bookworm (more of a Isekai than a comedy, but still a comedic tone)
Cells At Work (stick with the first season, second season is played dark as fuck)
Toilet Bound Hanako-kun (think of a horror comedy/yokai mashup thing. Visual style is unique)
Wandering Witch Elaina (though and episode is...um..hoo boy; very dark)
