I have never heard of Summertime Render but it appears to be a pretty long ongoing manga. The season is also 2 cours as it is, which is always something I like to see, and OLM does good work nowadays.

Executioner's Way looks to have gotten an advanced release of episodes 1 and 2 yesterday, is that going up anywhere or was that a theater thing?

Departing whether I want to finish S1 of Shield Hero to watch S2.

I didn't dislike what I saw of S1 or anything, got a bit past the first cour, but it just felt cheap that the MC's main boon was that everyone else in the world was an idiot.

Actually, it's most anime in general. Stupidity is often times a hero's greatest weapon.

The incel shit was cringe but the minute to minute actual fantasy stuff was pretty decent.

Shield Hero was awesome, the random incel shit is like the first episode and then who cares, just fun fantasy stuff.

I like Summertime Render pretty well, it was a good manga and I'll definitely try the anime. There's an overly emphasized panty shot in like the first or second chapter and basically nothing terribly fanservicey beyond that, to my recollection, so I always thought the ecchi tag was quite inaccurate.

I've watched Tenchi Muyo like 4 times.

Tenchi was my first anime (hello 15 year old me). Still holds up, at least certain shows do (OG, Universe, 1st/3rd Movies).

It's so depressing what a total shitshow the franchise is nowadays.

Yeah, Tenchi in Tokyo was mid, but compared to the kind is shit we've gotten over the last decade it was a masterpiece.

It feels like it might be tough. My impression of the manga is that it starts slow and ramps up really quickly. I'm a bit worried the buildup will suffer in the adaptation. I think the later parts of the manga are more easily compressed in the transition to animation, though, so it's a little hard to gauge.

I tried to get into this show but it just wasn't clicking for me at all.

I think I just can't get into comfort fantasy anime? I've tried a LOT of shows in this genre that I just can't make it through even when I like them.

Im more alarmed Summertime Rendering sounds like its focused on bringing the main girl back when there was a better looking one in the trailer tbh

Ascendance is really good in the derpy fun with low stakes way Spice and Wolf kinda was. More character focused rather than anything super dangerous (barring season finales). Also, not saying Ascendance is as good as Spice and Wolf (fuck no). Just comparing the feels the shows present.

I wonder how much of the Spring chart is finalized. Ill probably start my trash pre-season write-ups on April 1st regardless as that will be close enough

Decided that in a time where I can barely get myself to finish shows I'm into, there's no way I'm going to go out if my way to watch the second season of a show I didn't want to finish to begin with. Ranking of Kings is the only show I'll be finishing from Winter and that was actually a fall show to begin with.

I had written off Tomodachi Game as another Danganronpa wannabe, but seems it's actually a pretty well establish and liked manga from almost a decade ago before we started getting a half dozen of these a year. So...yeah I'll give it an episode.

There's a fake Haikyuu this season. Haikyuu S5 is happening this year supposedly, though.

Looking at the chart theres a couple shows Im a little interested in checking out, but nothing megaton hype level at all. Summer looks more interesting so far. I dunno if Ill be super excited for anything until Konosuba S3 comes out ages from now

I should honestly stop watching weekly shows because the last year has proven that one episode a week is no longer sufficient to retain my interest in anything.

That said I am planning on watching Summer Time Render and Spy x Family. Also Kaguya S3 in the category of "sequels to shows I like".

It looks like I only made it to episode 20 or so but I really hated the 2nd half of Shield Hero season 1. Some things about the series were actually pretty good but overall just bleh.

5 episodes left of my Shield Hero rewatch, and 7 episodes left of Love Live Nijigasaki - I should have those completed by the time their second seasons begin.

I meant to watch Demon Girl Next Door as well, but instead started rewatching Ikkitousen. Being better acquainted with Romance of the Three Kingdoms makes the show more bearable, even if the connection between the two is tenuous.

Bunch of new stuff I'll check out. Most looking forward to Executioner's Way of Life.

I like the first couple episodes a lot, but I fell off hard after, like....5 or 6?

Didn't have that problem with Sunshine, but I was also way more hyped on LL when Sunshine came out to begin with. Nijigasaki I felt like I was watching out of obligation.

Started Dai Dark from Q Hayashida (Dorohedoro)

I don't think I've ever seen a blatant "Doing my last thing again but in spaaaaaaace" than this.

I'm really enjoying Nijigasaki. I like how each girl gets their own episode, though each episode having a song is a bit much. Slightly prefer Sunshine, but definitely better than Superstar

Superstar kinda fell off after the first 3 episodes, which I really liked. I loved Nijigasaki anime, it's among my favorite Love Live seasons. Liked it more than Sunshine for the most part.

Though I am curious to see how they'll handle Nijigasaki S2. It's bringing in a character that was extremely polarized in the All Stars season 2 story, but they're very likely gonna handle the story much differently.

And then Superstar S2 starts in the Fall, so we're getting back-to-back Love Live seasons.

Continuing to catch up on all this manga, I'm on a roll.

Dasei 67 Percent is still solid gold.

My only spring suggestion, outside the big names: "Skeleton Knight in Another World" avoids most of the isekai pitfall traps, and is a decent enough fantasy story. Plus it has a skeleton and a cool fox!

Skeleton is possibly the most interesting looking Spring show imo

I'm actually in the middle of rewatching RWBY now, I have only seen the first 4 seasons because that's when they moved over to requiring a Rooster Teeth subscription and took it off Crunchy. Have only seen the first 2 on the re-watch so far.

Season 1 is pretty rough and is definitely the one that feels the most "cringe anime knockoff". Season is a step up but they kind of, like..got kind of meme-y? Like literally, it's got some pretty dated internet jokes. It gets pretty good towards the end, though.

Season 3 is the reason people like RWBY, it's some legit good stuff and basically the reason people started actually considering this a thing worth watching.

Season 4 was after Monty died and it does show. It's still def better than 1 and 2 but it's a step down.

Can't speak for anything after that just yet. A lot of people nowadays HIGHLY reccomended watching the subbed Japanese version instead, but I haven't checked that out. Apparently the people doing it even re-edit the episodes and stuff?

Also SHAFT is still pumping out the Madoka mobile anime, new season starting in a week.

Right, how could I have forgotten they keep making that. I guess its easier to ignore/forget when youre watching nothing and have also virtually lost all interest in said studio too. Its hard for me to even find time for a single hobby these days.

Is Monogatari over? Why haven't Shaft made a new one in years? Did they lose all their Monogatari fanboy staff? Did Aniplex strip them of their license because nobody would buy their BDs for $500?

Where's Off Season? Pre Season? Post Season? Superbowl? Draft? Free Agency?

Pretty sure the current big SHAFT project that's under wraps is that huge Madoka movie that got that dictator Mami PV.

Monogatari hasn't had a peep in years but the show got like 85 seasons so...

I don't think I've seen anything from that webisode season and beyond. The one with the grey haired girl in pigtails is where I would have to start I think

They should just outsource the series at this point. China/South Korea/Vietnam has better artists and animators.
