When I played IRL

my opponent would tell me the effect
like in the YGO show

i havent played since HS so idk if thats a normal thing to do

There is a little panel you can click on the bottom right that shows all the effects that went off etc. Usually YGO effects on cards are separated by like on summon effect, continuous or trigger (like I'll declare using this now type) effect, and like when sent to ___ type of effects. You just have to know that summon related effects are on the top, continuous/trigger usually below that, and sent to gy effects near the bottom. So when something does something by doing something, you know vaguely where to look

You don't necessarily have to read everything most of the time

I was setting up with Thundras, got Colossus on board, and the guy just scoops.
I looked at his deck, and it was the Dragon starter deck. then I felt bad, lol.

Matched up against a dude with the Dark Magician mate and the Black Luster Soldier icon with my Blue Eyes deck. He summons Magicians Rod and a set s/t so I think oh cool! Yugi vs Kaiba! I proceed to OTK him with Numeron Dragon lol

Leaning more towards the draw support cards dangers! get and threw in some extra hand traps. Once I am comfortable with where the main deck is I am finally going to move to the extra deck. I am holding my own in mid-gold with no extra deck monsters for now tho

Mid gold just means you're about 4-6 wins above the lowest you can drop to :(

Nice. What about if you deal that much through like the most intentionally arranged chain strike burn effect ever?

I think it would be interesting if Konami implemented special formats based on rarity, eg one where you can only play normals, or only up to rares. I'd like to see what the meta turns into when all staples and archetype playmakers are banned.

A few archetypes that aren't consistent enough to be a tier 3 or above would be impossible to play. Red eyes is UR. But then you have cards like madolche where most of the staples are SR. And all but 1 of the sky striker monsters I think are normal or rare. And same with their spells, only one is SR and the limited one is UR.

Got plat 1 with drytrons

Faced lots of Eldlich control decks at the end, luckily was able to keep golden lord off the field with ash and orange heralds in most of the matchups so even when i got locked out of my combos they couldn't really do anything

Tfw the only person in Plat playing pendurum mago

Yo wtf at this solo loaner duel to try and get the Aurum icon. This dude literally going full combo on me while I'm sitting here with box of friends and some senile ass grandpa in my hand fuck outta hereeeee

Haven't played this yet, but I wonder if it has Rokket monsters. My go-to is Boot Sector Launch to bring out a Level 4 Rokket and Explodrokket Dragon, special summon Absorouter or Noctovision Dragon with their effect, then normal summon another Level 4 Rokket. Then I XYZ summon and bring out Dark Rebellion and Dark Anthellion at the same time and crush my opponents. It's ridiculously easy to have all those cards on your first draw. I can sub out Explodrokket with another Absorouter or Noctovision if I fail to draw Explodrokket.

Yep either go first and have called by the grave and combo in hand or go 2nd and open with ash+infinite imperm or Nibiru.

Geez, I had a duel where the guy went first, spend 6 MINUTES shuffling cards around his field, then I went and put down a monster and a trap, ended my turn, then he spend another 4 MINUTES shuffling more cards around before finally attacking.

I love Yugioh, but I also fucking hate Yugioh >_>

My opponent took the Maxx C challenge and failed miserably. You can't even see the end of my hand. I OTK'ed them immediately.

I just had that happened where I maxx-c'd a synchron deck. When it came to my turn my hand was so far too large that I was forced to misplay basically, although it turned out that the other dude had no answer to Five-Headed Link Dragon. Well, he did have a Light monster that got to 8k but its ATK got halved by their own Rose Garden field spell.

Also, I'm seeing reports that the iOS/Android version of the game is popping up on the Apple/Google stores in some regions. So for people who were waiting for the mobile version to play the game (or were wanting to use it as an alt account to try different decks) it looks like the time is coming soon.

Honestly the only motivation I have to do PvP is to rank up the battle pass. Otherwise I'm making alts to try out different decks I might wanna use in real life lol

It's Konami, you might as well hope they give us 3 of every card for free because it's not gonna happen. They'll be available to use in some tournament format and I'm sure they'll have tournament weekends or whatever.

Actually, if they ever do draft tournaments in the game like you could in link evolution that would be pretty awesome.

BTW guys I just noticed that you can go to 'match history' to see replays of your last 20 matches where you can play and save the replays + follow the people you played against.

I made it to Gold V, wasnt hard, the ranks have settled out a lot more since I stopped playing. I heard that if you get a good winstreak, you can basically skip past Gold to Platinum. I dunno if its still a thing. Uncertain if I should put extra effort in buffing my deck to bolster my chances for that skip.

Yeah gold is kind of the golden land of not so much noobs anymore but still mostly lots of rogue/experimental decks with some metas sprinkled in. Plat is when you'll need AC for all the SWEAT

You can use it to check what their hand had, as well as check their deck list and even copy it. I've done that a few times to figure out how certain decks work and how you'd combo them.

I finally made it to platinum 1 but I still see the occasional rogue deck. Saw a Harpies deck in platinum 3. Yesterday I even found someone playing classic heroes and I mean pure classic. Their turn was set Burstinatrix face down and mystical space typhoon, pass. They also made me go first. That duel left me confused for a while...

Blowing up through the ranks currently with my sky strikers deck, with a shaddol engine. It's been great overall, especially after getting accesscode talker.

But the deck is still lacking alot in raw power, the early game and fighting around mutiple high atk monsters can be a chore.

If the game can be consistently won on turn one or two the ban list doesn't go fucking far enough

In Plat 3 many of my duels go to turn 6 or 8

The 3 turn one had me unable to do anything turn 1, my one summon got negated. Turn 2 my Maxx C got negated. Then they had Chimeratech Dragon and one card in their hand, then they forfeited.
