So I ran into this weird glitch today

Basically what happened, somehow there was a turn change while the activation prompt was up, and then I wasnt able to make any other moves, or even cancel the activation prompt.

Only actions available to me were phase changing and surrendering.

Mildly miffed, because I was making a hell of comeback. But it's not like theres a penalty for losing so it's moreso just amusing lol.

If I wanted to be more competitive I'd cut the dark rebellion and an armor master for Evilswarm exciton knight and Silent honor Ark. Black Rose and Black feather are also gonna be swapped for better level 7 and 8 synchros which 2008 me think is wild.

Lightning storm is probably going to get swapped for a TTT.

Random but I really wish Venominaga was viable. Konami too scared to give Venoms any support because of Snake Rain and Venominaga >.> It may be my favorite card to use in Yugioh history since I think technically speaking it is the most immortal and indestructible card in the entire series. Maybe I will try to build a non-venom Venominaga deck one of these days.

When I couldn't run a mill deck anymore I lost interest in the game.

Wtf lol. I'm in Bronze on my alt going second. Dude is playing Phantom Knights so I think he's gonna Rhongobongo me and I have no hand traps but three steps into his combo he just surrendered so I was like wtf lol

You can run a mill deck. It's called play Six Samurais and let your opponent use Maxx C lol

And now on Gold in Master Duel everyone fucking plays Eldlich. I just ran into three of them in a damn row. They all play exactly the same too.

Is there a rank 4 / lv 8 / Link I can add to my pendmag deck that would stop the trap-from-GY spam

Only played two games today for daily gems. Won both pretty fast. Gotta love when the opponent doesn't start with a hand trap, or when they run a boss monster with a once per turn negate that doesn't actually end your turn. Madolche salon is so good. <3

Been having alot of fun with the game, lots of stuff I want to play but for now settled on Solfachords. Kinda scary not choosing a meta deck as the first one I build but been doing well with it for now while climbing, had a close win against Eldlich (went down to the literal last second I had) and if I ever start losing more often down the line I can easily transition to standard pendulum magicians

From what I've been seeing around Reddit, you can pretty much make it to Gold/Plat with just about any deck with some luck and good understanding of how to pilot your deck. Investing in staples like Maxx C and Ash definitely helps also and they're great for any future decks you may want to build going forward

I totally get why people hate Eldlitch's control style but I really enjoy it. Anything that isn't combo deck is a plus and I like the sheer endurance of a good zombie. That said skill drain at 3 makes the deck unfair. I am pretty nostalgic for the Eldlitch / Adamancipator meta, it was the meta I watched the most.

To be fair the scariest thing you can do in current yugioh is play nothing and pass. There are a ton on hand traps that can save your ass. So he was probably assuming he'd need to play around those. One well-timed disruption could win you the game.

I dunno, I had a game against an Eldlitch deck where I had 1200 LP, an empty hand, and an empty board, and still had someone take five minutes to hit me with the Eldlitch he summoned while the first one was still on the board. I think some people just wanna show you how fucked you were, or was expecting me to surrender when I just wanted to give them the killing blow (and also get some progress on the Duel Pass since you get nothing if you surrender).

Eldlich players are extremely annoying. I've gotten to the point where I just scoop when I see that's what they're playing. Not getting my points and moving onto the next duel is a hell of a lot faster than sitting for hours while they burn out the clock.

Are Kaijus still decent these days? Tributing the opponent's monsters to get around protection abilities is always fun.

Yes and no.

People splash the sea turtle and robot into other decks but a pure Kaiju deck isnt that great.

This but Synchros, but also more the fact I wasn't in high school anymore.
Then I saw Synchros in college and wondered where we went so wrong.

Now after some anime watching I understand what they are. (also one bad tournament where Inzektors kicked my old school ass)
Was slightly disappointed in Duel Links but I'm so close to a scummy Ojama King deck damnit! (No monster for you!)

This. Turtle gets a fair amount of use as a generalized staple, especially for decks that use a lot of effects but don't have quick effect negates outside of hand traps.

Gadarla is actually kind of the go to Kaiju these days. Tribrigades/Bird Up can get Wind Barrier Statue out easily and Gadarla is the out whereas Gameciel can't be used. Luckily enough, Master Duel decided to make Gadarla only a rare in the game compared to Gameciel's super rare.

Also, I will always laugh at the people that think Synchros, XYZ and Links "made the game too complicated". Yes it kinda gave way to the the spammy special summons that we see today but they're literally just polymerization with different steps.

I always see Pendulum get the most shit despite being the least intrusive addition.

After they banned the two or three broken ones and changed it so pendulums take up slots in the magic/ trap zone it made them pretty standardized.

Im running a Danger!/Kaiju deck right now and I am having some fun with it.

Thinking about it, they kinda did a good thing by making the default game best of 1. So many newbies or players coming back and hate waiting 10 minutes for the opponent to make a turn. Imagine making them do it again lol

Although I do hope they eventually put in best of 3 and maybe make a separate ladder/ranking for it. If they wanna make the game their dedicated simulator, they gotta make it as close to IRL as possible

First game today I lost coin flip against Virtual World and didnt open any interruptions. They ended up making True King, the VW boss monster, and Crystal Wing. Essentially an FTK.

I ragequit then queue into 2nd game. Lose coin flip and go against PK who end with a 5 material Rhongo and essentially FTK me.

They really need to ban these fucking you cant play yugioh monsters.

I'm happy about the OCG list but one thing I'm not happy about is True King of All Calamities being playable, it's so cheap that his effect lingers after removing him. It's almost as good as skipping your opponent's turn.

Like, I don't have a problem with single omni-negates like Crystal Wing, the person controlling it has to think carefully about what cards their opponent may be using and try to figure out the best time to interrupt, and the opponent can use that fact to bait out a poor use. But True King just turns off your opponent's field for their whole turn.

Since I play pendulums it's not so bad but the thing is the decks that True King can most easily shut down are going to be decks with a lot of interactivity on the field and with the opponent, while having less effect on people playing solitaire with their deck and GY.

So apparently you get 10,000 gems after clearing all the solo stuff. Thats really good. You get gems and rewards for each mission too

Fine tuning my sky strikers/shaddol deck, and have had pretty good success so far in rank.

Although I'm not sure if I should use my last UR points on Anaconda to help my shaddol engine and boost its consistency. Or buy a proper boss monster like Borrelsword or accesscode talker.

1) Go first
2) Set up pendulum scales
3) extra deck summon ez floodgates like Abyss Walker
Then with the floodgate my opponent has a weaker turn 2 and on turn 3 I consolidate and go harder

At least you can negate Vanitys whenever, destroy it with spells and you can run it over. Once True King resolves you cant play yugioh. If your opponent summons a 5 mat Rhongo then it doesnt matter what you have, you cant play yugioh.

A turn 2 response can be pretty fun, getting ROFLstomped after turn 1 generally means to me that I started with a shit hand, if I built a good board and they plowed through it then that's a good game whether or not I lose

My "floodgates" in my new Monarch deck are more like brick walls to most decks. If I go first and get at least one of Vanity's Fiend, Majesty's Fiend, or Domain of the True Monarchs active (preferably with March of the Monarchs to protect them) then my opponent almost always surrenders early.

It's nearly impossible for most decks to get 2400 ATK+ on the field without some kind of special summon (which Vanity's Fiend stops them from doing) and if I have March of the Monarchs out too then they can't destroy/target it with card effects either.

Went against a Dragonmaid deck user. They won the toss and chose to go first just like I wanted since Sky Striker works great going second.

I had no handtraps and they were doing their stuff. But, I successfully forced them to negate my cards effect so I can start my combo. The turning point was them using Monster Reborn on a monster in their graveyard but I used SS Shark Cannon to remove the chosen monster from play. After that, I just kept using Shark Cannon and Widow Anchors to stop their last ditch efforts

In the end, they had 300 LP and a 500 Atk monster and decided to attack my 5300 Atk Accesscode Talker to lose. What a weird way to surrender but I take it

Yeah but thats a 2 card setup, which balances it out. You can also stall until you draw outs because Vanitys prevents both players from special summoning so the risk of being otkd is less. Vanitys is not comparable to the degeneracy of True King or Rhongo at all, which is why it isnt banned in the TCG and the other two are.

So if I want all the Blue Eyes Cards, I should dump all my gems into the secret pack "The Azure in Ivory", right? >_> I just started a few minutes ago

And what's up with secret packs? they only last 1 day and you gotta "rediscover" them? That's pretty dumb >_>

You don't get duel pass progress if you hit the surrender button, but you still get a little bit if you lose "normally" by having your LP go down to 0, even if it was self-inflicted. So that's likely why that guy did that instead of surrendering.

I was never saying it was as good as those two degenerate cards, just that it's still annoying for most decks to deal with because their options without being able to special summon are usually pretty limited. Plus, locking myself out of special summons barely matters because I'm playing Monarchs.

The packs can refresh their duration if you pull of them since you have a good chance to pull the cards that unlock that pack again.

but they exist basically to give you a way to quickly get an arctype

Secret Packs are the way to go to build a deck based around a certain archetype. Pull the pack that has your desired archetype, dismantle any cards that you pull but don't plan to use in that deck or any other decks you want to build in the future, and use the materials you get from dismantling the cards you won't use to directly craft the rest of the cards you need to fill the deck.

You can (re-)discover a secret pack at any time by crafting an SR or UR (preferably an SR) card found in that pack.

One thing they got right with Solo mode was putting the World Legacy story in. I fucking love it and how it made me choose Crusadias.
