Master Duel is just single games for now. If Konami starts hosting official tournaments in the game like they reportedly want to, they'll likely add match play and side-decking in a later update.

FTK's like this in modern-day Yu-Gi-Oh tend the be really inconsistent. For every time that it actually works, you'll probably get 2-3 times where you brick or fall short and then your opponent just runs you over when their turn comes. And that's not even including if they have a hand trap like Ash Blossom or Nibiru in their starting hand that can disrupt it.

This is why I don't even wanna play Yu-gi-oh anymore. I used to love it when it had limitations. At some point they made everything summon itself/something else/the entire graveyard and it got a lot less interesting.

It's why most TCG games has some form of a "resource" system that usually prevents playing your end game that fast. Though I can understand the appeal of this fast paced Yugioh, because it does feel pretty good being able to combo wombo like that at times. It just isn't for me.

Pretty much. I used to play Magic The Gathering as well, and its mana system always kept the game in check no matter how crazy some cards could get. Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have that. The game doesn't have less limitations now than it did before, because it never had limitations to begin with. Cards simply got stronger over time and there was no built-in system like MTG's mana to keep the speed of the game in check.
