It's Thursday, you know what that means: fight night is here once again! Here's the card for tonight:

The defending BattleBots champion End Game is back in action against another powerful vertical spinner in Witch Doctor. And if that main event doesn't sound violent and chaotic enough, we also have a battle of full-body spinners lined up, as Captain Shrederator looks to keep the momentum going after its huge upset win over Tombstone by taking down Gigabyte.

As usual, please put any discussion of match results under spoiler tags until 24 hours after the episode airs out of consideration for people who can't watch the episode live, especially if you decide to watch the episode early on Discovery+ before it airs on TV. Showtime for us TV viewers is at 8PM EST tonight on Discovery Channel (about an hour from the time of this post) and stay on the lookout for the bonus fight on the BattleBots Youtube channel this coming Sunday.

Clusterbots are a meme, but Jager was still fun to watch in action.

Free Shipping vs Uppercut: Big boom

Blacksmith vs Shatter: Blacksmith can't catch a break. Exposed chains shouldn't be a thing anymore.

Jaeger vs P1: Multibots suck. Four Horsemen is hilarious though. I'm still not a fan of P1.

Gigabyte vs Captain Shredderator: Beyblades go brrrrr. I waited a long time for this fight. The Cap still has reliability issues.

Dragon Slayer vs Duck: Dragon Slayer's weapon is very last gen. It didn't look like it slowed down.

End Game vs Witch Doctor: Witch Doctor always dies or lets off smoke. End Game looks solid every time.

Hell of a solid line-up so far. I'm only about halfway through but the first three fights have been pretty awesome. Uppercut getting another flamethrower explosion is the best.

The long-awaited battle of the beyblades goes to Gigabyte, as Shrederator is back to the old Shrederator and just dies on its own.

The main event was great and both bots landed some good hits, but End Game landed the big hit to take control and eventually get the KO victory. The defending champ is looking as good as ever. Pretty good episode all around this week, with the first and last fights being the highlights.

Honestly, Jaeger probably could've put up a good fight if it didn't kill its own frigging minibot. Whoever was driving the horizontal spinner is an idiot. They could've gone after the front, instead of the back where the mini was, doing its job.

Also, man, after they took out Tombstone, I was ready to stan hard for Captain Shrederator this season. But nope lol.

I love Witch Doctor and applaud their devotion to purity in the sport, but unless there's a discussion to be had about limiting/banning add-on forks, I think they might need to join in on the bullshit :\
Honestly, I always thought it was kind of stupid that robots can swap in and out different configurations, because it can fundamentally change some bots' entire concepts.

I actually really like that bots are more modular these days, because it adds a bit more strategy and gamesmanship to the sport. Obviously I have a problem with configurations that break the rules or go "your opponent basically doesn't get to play" like Ghost Raptor's de-icer and Hydra's bike rack cage because those make for awful fights and awful television. But other adjustments like adding forks/wedgelets, swapping weapon types, or tying a rake to your self-righting arm to swat a pesky drone aren't a bad thing to me at all.
