I just looked up Swimsuit Pyra.

I would consider that to be less ridiculous to actually play the game in than the default lol.

I've gotten used to Rex' look even if I'm still not a fan, but Pyra is patently stupid. It gets worse every cutscene.

Disguised Pyra reminds me of how I kept Velvet in her villager outfit the whole time in Tales of Berseria.

I put Velvet in the pirate costume, didn't seem too out of place.

It's nuts to me that there's no clean version alt of her default costume.

I realise Im late to accent chat but Pyras actress is British-American so its like, a half-fake accent. Same with a lot of the American accents in 2, they are either dual nationals like Pyra or Americans living in London.

The game is absolutely dying in this abandoned factory.

This is widely considered the worst part of the game. It's largely smooth sailing from here.

Was running at like 70% speed while walking around and less than 50% speed while in battle.

That's been the biggest shame so far compared to XB1, the game kinda runs like booty sometimes. I'm sure XB1 may have had issues in the Wii version though.

Yeah I found myself wishing it was on PS4 instead of Switch for most of the playthrough. The Switch really chugs at some points

I got through the nightmare that was SMTV, I can get through this.

The success of this console is truly a shame because I have no doubt when they release new hardware it's still going to be weaker than current gen stuff is now.

I mean I never take the thing out of the dock so the reason people like it is totally irrelevant to me.

For me it's just a weak console with a very poorly running storefront with bad search features.

Man not even. This thing chugs just as bad as the PS3 store did at the end of it's lifespan. It's like searching through butter. Takes several seconds to load the next row of game when browsing a sale.

I mean I don't either unless I'm going on vacation or for some toilet gaming and I still think it's a great console. If your expectation is that Nintendo is going to be Sony or Microsoft in terms of performance, you're always going to be disappointed.

I don't care if the graphics are bad, I just want my games to run at 60.

They can look like 360 games for all I care as long as they're smooth.

To be fair, games not running smoothly is often not fixed by better hardware! Graphics always get pushed before performance.

Nintendo's always going to be on the bottom of the totem pole performance wise, yeah, and that's generally been fine in the past. The trouble with the Switch is that it was released with less powerful tech than its contemporaries and then there was a considerably huge leap in tech just a few years later. I don't know if anyone's tried playing any cross gen games on PS4 but that's generally not a fun experience, either!

What really hurts though is that now we're seeing even Switch exclusives chug to the point that you really can't help but wish they were available anywhere else. Like we had considerable frame drops in a Mario game recently - let that sink in.

I think it says it all that they're in such bad shape hardware wise that they're having to release cross platform games as stream only because there's nothing they can do to make them work on their hardware....in some cases from PREVIOUS gens...and even those are bad because, irrelevant if the hardware, Nintendo's NETWORK is also shit.

Those Kingdom Hearts stream ports run worse than they did on the PS2, it's ridiculous.

Even by Nintendo standard, the Switch is just a bad piece of tech. Even if you go with the portability defense, it's an awful portable too because the battery lasts like 3 hours on a good day.

The only difference between the Switch and the Wii as far as being underpowered gimmick consoles that flew off the shelf is that they've actually got devs making games for this thing.

I don't think Kingdom Hearts was a result of the Switch hardware. The Pre-KH3 games could very easily run on Switch at a high performance. It's just that Square simply didn't want to go through the effort of porting them but still wanted to make a quick buck with the cloud versions.

But how poorly they run is the result of Nintendo's terrible online.

A console with good hardware would still have that, though.

Nintendo doesn't handle the online of any of the Switch cloud games.

So, the combat

So I do like it more because purely because of the controls. And yeah I do understand it all know, mechanically.

But it's still kind of a clusterfuck! Especially elemental weaknesses, outside the unity attack thing they seem almost pointless.

Yeah I don't think the elemental weakness was ever relevant. I also never paid attention to any of the Seal Stench, Seal Self-Destruct, ect, stuff that came from Blade Combos.

I'm sure that stuff is useful or required for the actual difficult end game stuff but in a casual playthrough the combat is so easy it's just not necessary.

Pretty much any boss can be demolished by just getting 3 or 4 elemental orbs and doing your big super attack (can't remember what it's called).

There's definitely times I've paid attention to Seals, but elemental resistances I don't really remember making a big deal about beyond well, hey if you got the element around and you don't need to do anything else just use that blade in the down time

by the end of the game I'm just stacking on a shitton of orbs and smashing them down

The strongest plot point in this game is definitely the blade memory thing. We'll see just how much they wring out if it, I doubt it will become as devoted to it as I like but we'll see!

That automated defense turret fight made me want to quit the game.

Man am I glad they got chapter 4 out of the way, because dealing with that nonsense at ANY point after these plot developments would be absolute whiplash.

This is nearly a game ruiningly stupid moment. I know it's here for necessary plot advancement, but it's just inexcusabley lazy.
