I consider 150k to be the point where it's worth it to start looking for a new(er) car.

Dor me it depends. Are we talking a lot like "what an accomplishment of engineering" because I'd say that's 300k. If we're talking "oh, that's going to bring the value down" thats 100k.

My car has 227k miles and I expect it to get me to 300k (05 Acura) . I was looking into buying a newer car late last year but prices are stupidly overpriced right now so Im holding off.

The chip shortage is affecting everything now, I've got another year of payments on my car but I've gotten offers from dealerships around me asking to buy it off me and clear the debt.

Depends on how new the car is. Modern cars last much longer

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Agree with this. 200k is practically a fossil on wheels

Classically, 100k.

I dunno, what do you mean by "a lot?" As in, you're shopping and look at the odometer and go, "Gee, I dunno, that's a lot of miles?"

I'd say 200k for most cars, +/- 50k depending on the brand. 300k for trucks since they seem to run forever

It depends a ton on the make and model. And replacing a few key parts (like transmission) can give the car a new 100k+ lease on life.
