I don't think there's an aggregate for hardware reviews, but I've seen a lot of reviews in the 6-7 range citing that it's a good first attempt, but maybe wait for future revisions as it's a bit glitchy, the format makes games controls poorly and has poor battery life.

Im 100% getting it, the LTT coverage has been super convincing

I put in my $5 reservation a few days ago for the middle option. Still not too sure about paying that price point, especially when they're already talking about a successor. But it'll be months before it gets around to me actually ordering one, so I'll have plenty of time to fully make up my mind.

The talk about the successor is focusing a lot on bringing things only a mobile device can do and Im not too sure I need to wait to see what that is.

I am kinda hyped for the deck. Mine's not due until after Q2, and I'm hoping that a lot of the software issues will be ironed out by then.

GamersNexus gave it a pretty positive review aside from the fact that it seems like SteamOS and the UI need work (which can be fixed with updates).

I was initially interested because I enjoy gaming when I can just lounge about, since I hate sitting up at a computer, but then I realized Steam Link basically accomplishes that already.

mostly been considering Steam Deck because my computer is not at all made to handle gaming and I want an option to play Microsoft-owned games without investing in a full Xbox Series whatever and maybe be able to pick up the occasional game from steam sales

People are starting to report very bad stick drift, as a warning to anybody getting the first batch.

The Steam Deck has right to repair and Valve is making replacement parts readily available, so its not the biggest concern to me.

Why did all these companies suddenly become shit at making joysticks in the last ~5 years? I don't recall ever hearing about stick drift until the current consoles.

360 controllers used to get insane stick drift, that's when I first started noticing it myself.
