History has shown hard ban list and weird rules don't accomplish that much either. In fact, there is no easy solution to YGO as a whole. You kinda gotta accept positives and negatives. Positives are that Konami eventually figured out how to make grind game decks exist alongside combo decks. Nearly every meta has at least 1 of each. Sky Strikers will always be a thing for grind games at minimum a rogue level, and some people really like playing combos, and you can't really deny them either.

Big combo decks aren't the problem. Big combo decks that end turn 1 on a "you don't get to play the game so fuck off" board (like decks that set up Rhongo or Herald) or just FTK you with little/no chance to react (like the two FTK's the bots are using) are the problem. This is made even worse by this game's best-of-1 format and the exploits people use to just disconnect away from a duel without it counting as a loss if they lose the coin flip.

In real-life tournaments, if you lost game 1 to a deck like this, you can at least choose to go first in game 2 and side-deck in potential counters to try and turn the match around. But in Master Duel, you either get lucky and open the game with multiple hand traps or board breakers, or you're fucked.

I think a big solution would be reducing the timer to 360 seconds instead of 480, and having the timer never reset, though to compensate it would give you 15 seconds each time you can chain a card so you can decide if you will or not.

Something like that might work. I just had another duel where I watched a game of solitaire after my one and only turn. I paid no attention to what they were doing and just browsed the internet for about 7 minutes or so.

Nah I'm using that N/R loaner deck and mamaged to get quite an amount of ATK in a single monster.

I actually did get Magic Cylinder'd today, and I'm salty lol, because I didn't just get Cylinder'd.

Trickstar Deck. They open with Double Dark Room of Nightmare. They're doing this wacky shit, every spell I play costs me like, 2000 life points. I finally manage to out that stupid Trickstar card, then go in for an attack with Kagari.

They Magic Cylinder. I've got 1600 life points, and Kagari is buffed to 2000+. But wait! I can Widow Anchor my own Kagari! Her attack will debuff back down to 1500, I'll survive the turn with just 100 life points, but maybe I can turn it around!

And then they chain a second cylinder to my Widow Anchor. -_-;;;;

Earlier I beat a drytron deck because I actually planned out move by move what order to play my cards and hope they negated one of the less important ones. They did! Then I managed to clear their field. Turn 3 they did stuff again and I kept enough stuff on my board that after they negated the destroy effect I went for, I got out my slam dunker U.A. guy and they quit.

Felt really good considering how easily stopped the U.A. engine is. Just take out whatever we normal summon unless it's the 1200 attack one, then wait til we swap that out.

Oh nice, congrats! Always good to see the lesser played decks pull an upset. Fuck Herald, lol

I had a game with U.A.'s where I got Ash'd and Maxx C'd, still did 4 summons during the main phase, did my 5th in the battle phase thanks to Midfielder's quick effect, and OTK'd my opponent while the Nibiru in his hand never got the chance to stop me. And then I sometimes have duels where one Ash completely fucks me over because that was the only search card I opened and I didn't open either of the level 4 monsters.

U.A.'s are such an inconsistent deck, but they can go ham when people least expect it. They're my second favorite deck I have behind Sky Strikers.

They're fun, I built it because it was a really cheap archetype and didn't even research it first. But then I saw how fast it can grow dangerous if left alone and oh gosh, I can't not like them for a similar reason to why I love madolche. Overwhelm with numbers. :3

Rogue deck often just means "non-meta deck".

Rogue decks are a bit more than non-meta. They are generally what like tier 2.5 are, which is a bit weird. They have a chance against t1 decks and can even top tournaments with the right build, but the chance of that happening is not high, and their overall presence in tourneys will be relatively low but not non-existent.

Compare that to a T2, which means it had a chance to be T1 depending on future generic support and will be something T1-2 decks will actually build around. But rogue decks tend not to be built to counter because their presence tend to be something generics can deal with or there aren't enough representation to be worth the trouble. However T2 is still considered meta and will warrant some side decking or splashes

Not being rogue or meta usually means they have like less than 3 representation for an entire year (so no fringe tops from some random ass deck that lucked out should put a deck at a rogue tier), or the deck was so bad that a single card pool update phased it out of any chance of having a top mid-year.

Yeah I was gonna say, rogue doesn't necessarily mean non-meta. Rogue is stuff like Madolches, Traptrix, U.A., Burning Abyss, even Blue-Eyes these days. Decks that can sometimes steal wins from top tier decks depending on the matchups but are generally less popular and successful overall.

Only consolation is that since adding Psy-Frame Gamma to my deck I've opened it everytime I go against Cyber Stein OTK. Though most recently it turned out to be someone actually running Infernobles/Igknights, so I felt a bit bad about shutting them down so hard. <___<

Its wild times out there man. I tried to play and just got surrenders or DD Dynamite decks.

We have to run 13 card extra decks just like running gamma is really good right now. It was good to run feather duster and other backrow hate a month and a half ago but now the Eldlich problem has sorted itself out mostly.

Finally got my set of Called. Now maybe those undead lolis can stop cucking me whenever I try to play Engage. >_>

In other news, I originally dropped out of the game a bit before Halq was released in the TCG, I think. I've been thinking "wow two card Accesscode combo is great" but holy shit, I had no idea how evil that card is till I saw it played in a real Synchro deck. Halq + Ash gives me a 5300 beat stick and board wipe. It gives Zefra like, 6 fucking negates and 2500+ attack bodies.

Speaking of Halq, seeing YouTube vids where people remember he has a second effect is always refreshing. "Oh, right, people play cards and don't even know the effects. Nice."

Crazy its on Season 4 now, about to be 5. Havent played since the start of Season 2, so I was in Bronze V. Made it to Silver II before losing to a deck that had cards that double in attack power after every attack by its archetype. Had no idea it was gonna happen, had no defense.

Sounds like Numerons. Absolutely infuriating deck. In theory they're extremely mediocre but for some reason I never have the out when I'm up against them, and when I do, they've got Lightning Storm or Called or some other shit that shuts me down anyway lol.

I don't even know the appeal of the deck. It has exactly one play. Even the most degenerate Exodia solitaire decks are more involved. <_<

Yeah Halq is a Crystron card at heart. If they really wanted him to be balanced, all they needed to do with make him summon a Crystron tuner from the deck instead of any fucking tuner in the long history of ygo where most hand traps are tuners.

Otherwise his 2nd effect is common in Crystrons or with most tuner synchro mons. It allows you to do some really good reactive plays. Also why IP:Masquerena is great. Anything reactive is always gonna be great, esp with on summon ignition effects

Finished the Battlepass. Made it to Gold IV, dunno if my deck is that inconsistent, or if I just misplayed too often. Even if we ignored that the season is almost over, I really don't think I care to grind my rank back to Plat. Was kinda fun after not playing for a while.

Tri-zoo are supposed to do things like set Revolt or draw hand traps, summon Drident or the Ancient Warrior bounce and the likes and pass.

They're another grind game deck. They work both 1st and 2nd, but going 1st is generally better against most decks obviously.

It also sorely needs Salamangreat Almiraj for the recursion into extension via that one guy if you want to make fancy turn 1s.

Big maintenance time. Fingers crossed for that banlist...

As long as they don't touch Grass

Maxx C could honestly be banned, limited, semi-limited, or remain unlimited depending on if Master Duel wants to lean towards TCG or OCG. Could also see them hit pot of desires to 1 or 2.

Was getting a bit better at piloting it. Was able to make a turn 1 Appolousa/Ancient Warrior/Revolt board, which felt good. Dirty, but good. <_< Still finding myself floundering a bit as the game goes on, but I think I'm getting better each time.

Currently running the deck mostly pure because I don't have the material for Drident or Zeus, so I don't see much of a point in running the Zoo package. I could probably throw Simorgh and Barrier Statue in there but without the Lyrilusc cards I'm unsure of how good it would actually be.

Well...huh...maybe if instead of going into Appolousa, I could make Simorgh, Dragon Warrior, and Revolt. I'd lose negates but I'd get protection and a floodgate. Hmmmm....but then I wouldn't be able to Revolt into Bird Daddy until they took out the barrier statue...

Also you're running rescue cat? If you have kitt and kerass at 3 I can kind-of see it but it eats up your normal summon and would be super dead late game.

Def try to get you Zeus, Drident and Salamagreat asap. They make a huge difference.

No new banlist, nothing really changed besides the leaked cards we already knew about. What the fuck is Konami doing. They're killing this game.
