All it did was force them to literally copy/paste a ton of content to fill it all in, which becomes tedious and un-fun the more you play the game. As someone who isn't a completionist, all this means is that there's more content if I feel like going to it. If you knew right where you wanted to go immediately on consecutive plays, you could play it in a more traditional way. Since you can teleport at any time, you never would have to actually use the open world aside from going the direct paths you want. You'd have to replay less area than you would on the first few games. This game is open for you to create your own pacing.
