Esp towards the end when it was just random fights with no plot or character development at all, for years on end. The anime didn't help matter since it moved at a slug's pace. But...the entire plot surrounding ~~Rukia was so Aizen could get his hands on the Hogyoku. Like a third of the arc was devoted to figuring out "who killed Aizen" and what the underlying plot was.~~ Aizen was for sure the endgame of the series, and the stuff after his initial defeat felt kind of fillery/fanfic-y. Still, lots of cool stuff in the Thousand Year Blood War. It's gonna be fun to see it animated. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction.
