Also you're running rescue cat? If you have kitt and kerass at 3 I can kind-of see it but it eats up your normal summon and would be super dead late game.

Def try to get you Zeus, Drident and Salamagreat asap. They make a huge difference.

Assuming Drident doesn't get hit I was definitely gonna work towards that version since Zeus is just so splashable. But the longer we go without a banlist, the more anxious I get that it's gonna come and I'm gonna have wasted gems I could've used for like...Crossout or Nibiru. >___>

Also didn't touch any of the FTK decks or bots. I honestly think Konami just doesn't gaf about this game anymore lol. They made their money at launch and then bounced.

They cared enough to ruin how fun suicide decks were in the Xyz event but not enough to kill the bot stuff.

I got synchro dragon cards. I am a happy man.

I actually like Herald/fairies, but its resource management has become way too consistent for it to be fair. I can play around two, maybe even 3 omni-negates if my hand is good. But they end up with like six fucking fairies in hand.

Ritual Beasts' boss monster has almost the same effect (just can't negate summons), I'm waiting for the day they somehow manage to break that deck. <__<

Already 10 levels into the new pass the auto surrender bots sure make this a fun and interactive game!

I can't really seem to make Despias work. I mean sure out of 6 duels, why do I need to draw the 1 of garnet Psyframe normal monster that works with the other thing in 4 of the duels? Why do I keep facing Shaddolls who dismantle this fucking deck?

But aside from that, I have no material for N'Tss, and I just don't want to spend CP on bad decks >.>. I don't think N'Tss would've made the world of difference in a few of the scenarios.

Also the deck suffers from a complete lack of way to provide enough discard fodders. I just run out of resources after doing just about nothing.

Kinda disappointing brief trial run, and every day I regret not spending a bit to get some Shaddoll cards. Shaddolls I know can't really do much against most turn 1 decks, but I hate turn 1 decks, and Shaddolls basically hard counter most grind game decks that don't have a billion negates or have a bunch of free destroys.

Out of gems and out of ideas, not enough things to really connect my cards together for a strong deck. Kinda bummed out. Also no banlist is a bit lol, but in Gold, I seem to be facing the entire history of YGO but all of them have Shaddolls sprinkled on them.

I also lost to a Timelord burn deck because the guy fucking hard drew 3 chain strike whatever thing, and I even had Royal Decree on the field lmfao. What a hoot.

EDIT: Oh look, of course as soon as I rant, I draw the God hand and see what this deck was actually supposed to do lmfao. Yeah... I dunno. You know what's sad? This guy's gonna be like wtf kind of op shit is this? And not realize I just came from an extremely long loss streak

Yeah they're missing some of their best cards even. I'm trying to make up for it in other archetype, but the Despia part of the deck just feels like it's missing things. It's too difficult to get the Albaz stuff involved, for one thing, and for another, Shaddolls really do just absolutely fuck with all of the Despia plan of attack. Just getting Ariel into the grave is really just gg, and that's such an easy requirement

People dont bring him up too often, at least compared to VFD, but should I get ZEUS for my VW deck? Im not sure if he should be a priority, compared to adding more staples. I have 2 Ash, a Maxx C, Feather Duster, and Effect Veiler, I think. No Called or Crossout.

Can't go too wrong with Zeus imo, but you might want a 3rd Ash first. Don't be like me and try to jump too many places at once

Yeah, I dont wanna spread myself too thin. Main thing Im thinking is that sometimes my board just isnt great for getting out VFD, or even if it is, its not even Monsters Im that worried about, but the backrow. ZEUS is super easy to get out and would alleviate a lot of my worries, but I dunno for sure.

I will kill my gems for synchros.

Edit: oh my, there is Stardust Synchron and Synchro Overtake in there.

Played a few more games and getting slightly better at Tri-Brigade. Beat a Drytron player. Gosh it feels so good to negate the the negater. >_>

Apparently when Konami heard people saying "we completed the duel pass too fast" they didn't think "let's make the pass expire sooner" and instead thought "let's slow down people's progress on the pass so they have to grind 2.5 times as long to get the rewards".

No banlist changes, very few new rewards, slower duel pass progress, a grand total of two new cards that might do anything to affect the meta... I was already in "just play long enough to complete dailies and that's it" mode for the past couple of weeks, and now I might not even do that.

Apparently there's now a cap on the amount of gem rewards you can get from duels in a day. 80 is the "soft cap" before it only gives you 1 gem per reward, and 100 is the "hard cap" where you no longer get any at all. Not many normal players play long enough in a day to hit that cap, but it means that bots can't farm nearly as much as they could before, so we should hopefully see less of them going forward.

How though? This was the only infinitely farmable way to get gems in the entire game, and now not only is it no longer infinite, the cap is too low for a bot to even take advantage of it anymore compared to a normal player.

That really doesn't make anything better it only proves this games worthless outside of trying to get you to buy gems. The state of the game is practically unplayable but lets fix the bots getting gems instead of the braindead decks they use to do it.

So I made several sky striker variant decks and I found Sky Striker Numeron the most fun. I am in plat 4 because of it. Added 4 Kaijus, 2 Numeron sets, rest is Raye and her toolkit. Raye clears the board and makes way for Numeron to go for game.

Just realized the U.A. field spell can stack in a single turn, I had all 3 because I Maxx C'd on an opponent no got a bunch of cyber dragons out but no fusion cards. 4k dunker with the equip spell for 5k attack, very nice.

I got my Baronne de Fleur pull

You just need like a 5-6 card engine in your deck and a deck not too reliant on normal summon to run the full Baronne/Scythe combo. Couple more cards to run a Baronne/Barreload combo too. It's pretty difficult to counter, but DPE is even better than that cuz it's not too reliant on normal summon I think

Pull back the monsters I put on their field with Owner's Seal or Remove Brainwashing and attack with them. Or just pray they scoop after their board gets broken. I know it's a terrible idea, I'm just really frustrated and sick of indestructible Herald/Adamancipator boards.

For all the problems I have with the game, the thing that's finally going to get me to drop it is the disappearance of those gem sales lol.

I don't mind dropping $20 every month or so on card games. But the "standard" prices are absolute bullshit lol, and it's not like pulls inspire a lot of confidence. >_>

Also, just had a funny match. Opponent stalled out the timer without playing any cards because I had Sky Striker and Kaiser Collosseum. Understandable, I guess, because those kinda floodgates can make anyone salty. But then after the duel I checked their deck, and they were playing Floodgate Eldlitch, lmao. Come on, friendo, you can't grief people for using your own strategy against you. <___<

Which do you play more?

At the moment, it's True Draco - partially to avoid the Dynamite bots, and partially because I do find the deck to be pretty damn fun when it works out right. Before that, I was primarily playing non-Pendulum Yosenju, since I found the N/R versions to be fun (even while just playing normally) and figured I'd try to make it a bit more serious.

IDS hasn't been touched since I'm still hunting URs for it.

More than half of my losses is because of me bricking or the opponent having every out to whatever I do. Maxx C? They have Ash, Called by or that nobleman card. Ash Blossom? Called by. Using Sky Striker? They have Maxx C almost all the time and sometimes even two. Me making Accesscode for game? Surprise! They have Nibiru of all things in their hand

Failed gimmicks they came up with early into the game.

Gemini concept is basically, you use two summons or whatever on the same monster to get it to unlock its effect. But resource wise, none were worth it even with the bit of support they got because Konami thought they'd be too powerful. IIRC they came out during the GX era so lmfao nope, they're pretty ass for the effort.

Union is even worse. You know how some cards let you equip others to them for effects? Most union monsters do that but they can ONLY equip themselves to specific other cards. The closest to decent ones were the X Y Z dragon tank something combination since they were the first things that could swap into a fusion monster without the need for polymerization. Unfortunately, the support for union cards is trash and even if they were good too many had the "can only equip to X card" thing so unless you had 2+ specific cards make it to the field they weren't gonna ever be useful. And the effects were usually ass. +400 attack and piercing by equipping an 800 attack monster to an 1800 one and you'd need two summons anyways to get them out. Or else, wow the equipped card can't can't destroyed in battle one time. Nothing for other removal and the defense of the equipped card is better than either stat for the equipped monster.

Basically, they're trash mechanics that never will return since other (general and archetype specific) concepts already cover them better.

So, there are videos by TheDuelLogs on YouTube that cover these, but to summarize...

Gemini monsters are basically Effect monsters that are treated as Normal monsters in the hand and GY, and whose Effects are initially disabled when on the field. However, by sacrificing your Normal Summon for that turn, you can basically turn the Effects on and start using them.

Union monsters are basically like Megazords; they're Effect Monsters that can turn themselves into Equip Spells that can only attach to other Union monsters, or detach themselves and revert to being Effect Monsters. So, as an example, A - Assault Core, B - Buster Drake, and C - Crush Wyvern are all connected to each other, or V - Tiger Jet and W - Wing Catapult.

It really does suck. At this point if I'm going second, open no disruption, and my opponent isn't playing a meme deck, I just scoop. >_>

As for Geminis and Unions, I feel like Unions could be viable as a card type if they could be equipped from the hand. Like, just make them the equip version of Pendulums or something.

Geminis though were DOA and are completely unsalvagable. Just a shittier version of tribute summoning.

Maybe they could change them so, instead of always being normal monsters, they're simply locked into one of two effects on summon. And you can use a normal summon to change their "mode", if you wanted to. Errata past support to say "If the Gemini monster is treated as a normal monster:" so you don't get any weird interactions with "gains their effects".
