If you have place to put it, get a power tower and use it regularly. Youll bust em out in no time.

I bought one off Amazon 5 years ago for about $110. I use it all the time. Serious bang for buck.

I could manage maybe 3. Once upon a time I could do 2 sets of 10-15 though. I could never do more than 2 dips though - and I was in pretty good shape.

C. Confirmed on a recent visit with my parents, where I still have a pullup bar. I managed a set of five, which isn't a lot, but it surprised me because I've gained 30 pounds over the last year. When I was lighter, I could do somewhere between 15 and 20.

Dips are much easier. Maybe you had a shoulder issue.

dips were really hard for me when I first tried them.

for pull ups, it depends on the grip. on a straight bar I can do 20. on an angled bar, not as many.

Nah, just never really worked my back in those days. Closest I came was pushups which didn't help my trapezius (IIRC that's what it's called) much.

if you contract your back muscles and align your arms so that you are pushing with your back, you will. it's a push movement rather than pull. either type of exercise can hit different muscles depending on grips, muscles the person contracts, and angles.

My only point is that both dips and push ups will barely work the back compared to pull ups. Angles and grips aside, that's simply the inarguable nature of each exercise.
