Ben talking to his own memory of Han and using that to come to terms with his mistakes was also a masterful scene. Ignoring the silly, contrived stuff, the ending of "Rey Skywalker" would still fit into the themes of TLJ. She admitted that she was nobody; Kylo Ren told her she was nothing to anybody. She was at a low point in her life, which the third movie in the trilogy rightly lifted her from. The contention became different, but similar--she's got evil in her blood. When presented with the slightest temptation in TLJ, she dove right into it...She has always had that potential for darkness. TROS is about her realizing that her lineage doesn't define who she is as a person. She doesn't want to be a Palpatine; she wants to be a Skywalker. So now she is. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction.
