Thats the day that DARK WINDS, a new series based on the classic bestselling Navajo detective novels by Tony Hillerman, will premiere on AMC and AMC+. They may have messed up the execution by cutting things short, but the characters ended up where they were always going to end up. GRRM, having seen how much people hated the ending, was faced with either re-writing the entire ending to his series (and deal with all the dangling plot threads set up to make that ending possible), or commit to his ending and let people hate it. Facing that choice, he decided to... do nothing. Just anything other than his main series, because he doesn't have a way out. Plus I have to imagine the guy is used to being treated like fiction writing royalty at this point and all his guest appearances/judge spots/etc will go away if he stops producing, so he just keeps pumping out other projects to stay relevant so his well of fame doesn't dry up. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. Because Martin was already known as being slow as fuck to release books part of his deal with HBO to make the show was that they had to know how it ended so that the show could have something to work toward if they caught up to him. That's exactly what happened. Then there was so much outcry over the ending that I think Martin got butthurt and now doesn't want to end the books that way but can't think of any other way to do it so he's just kind of piddling around with it at this point.
