I miss the duckbear topics. They got lots of traffic. And they got people talking They were a staple of the site. And I got some of my news from there

I'm sure it's just the shock of seeing a cleaner board. As somebody who's had Duckbear blocked for years, I can say the board still seems like the same old.

I do not miss duckbear, nor his topics. If anything might be held together with such filth, then maybe it doesn't belong. There were people that were enjoyable, around here, but they're mostly gone now. Now I ride this wave, watching the page count dwindle over time, until we can lay this board to rest.

On the plus side, now we won't get those times when someone bumps all of his topics, so the first page of the board winds up being more than half empty because 13/20 topics aren't showing.

It does seem more quite around here and I miss the discussions.

He was easily one of the most dishonest posters on this board, and none of the names saying they miss him are at all surprising given that fact.

I'm not sure I've ever even lied here, I have no reason to. XD

I'm not schmendrake or schemdrake or any other kind of drake, and I never personally deceived any of you, even if I may have enabled others to do so.

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

You know what the real irony is?

We've spent like 15 years complaining about people coming in from the poll and making dozens of terrible repetitive topics about it.

Now that the board is dying, having a few extra poll-related topics per day would probably help keep things moving. But now those people go to the Actual Poll of the Day board instead.

We've doomed ourselves with our own hubris!

Ah duckbear was the dude with the are they sexy threads? I have seen thousands of em over the years probably but never really identified who made them.

Shrug, don't know if I really miss them, also the board has been deadish before for long periods of time, so who knows, maybe it'll ressurect. Probably not with so many other forms of media now etc.

I still check it at least a few times a day and i'm not going anywhere soon:)

I too hope that the Norse goddess of death will come back at some point. Certainly moreso than Duckbear, who I hope stays gone forever.

That place is pretty popular. I wouldn't stoop so low, though. We don't need to be "real".
