Imagine having to do all the quests... but you don't gain XP

You usually have like... 1-8 HP as the standard civ, as I recall.

A yaknow? Is that like some fantasy yak-based monster?

Ive never played a full game of dungeons and dragons but have always wanted to. Maybe one day.

The same is generally true for most fantasy universes. Imagine being in a world where you constantly have to worry about monsters attacking your village, but you don't have any awesome combat skills to fight back with because you're a lvl 0 Commoner.

A cat can very easily and consistently kill a commoner, so, yes.

It's pretty boring unless you like the idea of sitting around with your friends doing nothing 95% of the time. In that case, you're probably just better off playing a video game you both like.

The group I played with took it very seriously (role-playing level) and it was so boring I fell asleep on them.

These days we have computers and everyone can move around at once.

Sounds like you just need a better group. Or less shitty friends.

On the contrary, the world of D&D is probably about as stable as any other medieval setting since most of the really cool stuff is hiding out in improbably-designed dungeons.

Yeah actually you're right they were really shitty friends and I did. That's a pretty nasty thing to say, but I say they're your words. What I like to do is obsess over a game of Civ for 18 hours, not play poker smoke weed and talk about... idk I think they talked about all the cool drugs they were doing a lot. I don't think any one of them had an attention span that could keep them engaged with any meaningful thought.

I mostly just play games with my brothers these days.

You have a d4 HP, which is what a housecat can do in damage. Oh yeah, you're screwed.

Just ignoring mechanical concepts; it's a world where you live on a few silver pieces a day, goblins and orcs might be raiding your village, the graveyard might be full of zombies, and the heroes are going to demand a few hundred gold pieces to deal with these issues--otherwise it's not worth their time.

Be fun to roleplay a group of cats that try and take over the world:)
