I've seen this on youtube a few times lately.

Is this the new way of telling someone "say no more"?

You can avoid saying more than you've already said. You can't say less than you've already said.

That would require going back in time and stopping yourself from talking prior to the point you otherwise finished speaking.

Or... maybe someone discovered anti-words and upon uttering them your sum total word count is fewer than it was...

"say no more" means they have said enough and you are convinced.

"say less" sounds to me as if you are saying "you only make yourself sound like more of an idiot with each word you say, so you should have stopped long ago".

My grandfather can speak for hours without saying anything, is that negative words?

I hear it used as a new way of saying, say no more quite often

In my experience "say less" has a positive connotation.
Like, "you've already said enough to convince me, more would be overkill".

what the fuck? This sounds so stupid

Ive only really seen the fuller statement of say less do more. In other words telling someone they are running their mouth about something when they could actually be doing something. Or just in general they are talking too much when they should be busy with something else.

Thats how it is, though. Theres lots of things my generation said that the generation before though was stupid. Every generation is like that I thought it was weird the first time I heard it, but I just got use to hearing it from the Younger generation So, its whatever now
