The official Twitter accounts of the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays baseball teams did not tweet any coverage about tonight's game between the two teams (Yankees won 7-2 if anyone cares) and instead tweeted various statistics and citations to raise awareness about the impact of gun violence in the United States. Of course, the usual "StIcK tO sPoRtS" crowd made some noise in the replies.

I wonder how Ron DeSantis feels about a team in his state tweeting about this stuff?

If a community has a string of fatal DUIs, you dont address them right away. You respect the victims by kicking the can down the road.

If a family has several instances of child abuse, you dont step in to help the child. You let the family continue in their ways to respect the child.

And if mass shootings continue to occur, you dont implement gun control laws to protect the public. You send thoughts and prayers to comfort the victims.
