I got to the part where I was playing as Thor in the Prologue, then decided to take a break for the night after seeing the saving icon. I return today, and all of a sudden there's a scene about Nick Fury being rescued and Kamala standing next to all the people she shouldn't know yet. I'm like wtf. Clearly it skipped me ahead. I went to YouTube to watch what was missing, and it skipped A LOT. What the absolute fuck.

I actually started that game but didn't get far into it. Seemed pretty cool, but a HUGE pet peeve of mine is when dialogue overlaps/disrupts other dialogue and that happens soooo much in GotG.

Lol that's definitely a fair point and I actually do plan on getting back to it. I only got Avengers because I was at a friend's house yesterday, and he was showing me the game and said it was really good and talked me into playing it with him.

Are you sure you started the campaign? Or did you do the MP mode?

The core gameplay is actually very fun and underrated and they did a great job mapping out each character

Problem is there's a lot of bugs and there isn't much enemy variety.
Plus Multiplayer online is a headache, and the only way to get gear over level 140 is by completing a near 2 hour Raid or the Omega Level Threat which takes forever too. If you play with randos on those levels they'll most likely quit on you leaving you unable to complete the mission.

It sounds like you skipped ahead to a DLC campaign by accident maybe?

I started the campaign. I did the part of collecting comic books as kid Kamala. Then the bridge blew up and I eventually got control of Thor. I decided to take a break at that point since it was late last night. I loaded the game today and went back into campaign mode, and was greeted to the Marvel logo screen which I skipped. Then I saw Nick Fury and others talking about how he was rescued so I closed the game.

Possibly? I did notice it says "All Heroes Available" under campaign mode and I don't think it said that last night. But literally all I did was pause the game and quit it last night while controlling Thor in the prologue.

It actually seemed really fun and looked beautiful when my friend was playing it. He let me try it out. He's not very far into it either though. 18% of chapter 1 it said for him.

Did you press Continue on the Avengers Assemble campaign? That's the main story one. Your progress is still probably there but you're not missing much if you don't care anymore.

Actually,I just loaded the game, and I think I did click the wrong mode.

My options are Play Now | Operations | Settings. Seems like Operations was where I needed to go. I think when I first played yesterday, the MP mode was the middle option. So weird that it switched spots. And also changed names I think.

According to this video, I was correct. When you first start the game, the solo mode is on the left side and called Campaign. Now it's in the middle and called Operations.

no, the main problem is that the game is designed around microtransactions, so you have to slowly level up each hero from 1 by grinding the same few missions to unlock the most basic of moves

There is grinding involved but the microtransactions are centered around cosmetics not leveling up

When I played they had just released an update slowing xp gain, so that they could sell xp boosters

i guess they took that out, dunno if they readjusted the xp gain but the fact remains the game is designed to be a grind, presumably to keep people playing longer?
