Well?

Let's say something happens to your PC and because of that you HAD to choose one or the other, which would it be? Do you go with pretty graphics at the sacrifice of always playing at 30fps, or do you play at 60+fps at the sacrifice of pretty graphics? Are you a graphics snob, or a performance stan? You can only choose one.

As someone rocking a max-level 3080 laptop, the answer is "both".

But if I could only choose one, it'd be performance.

Depends on the game tbh, but probably performance in most cases.

I feel like in both PC and console spaces we've finally gotten to the point where gamers prefer performance over frank visual clarity. Or we are at least given the option between the two.

Gameplay, performance, graphics is low tier.

The human eye stops taking in "muh better grafiks" at one point.

I always prefer performance. As long as it's running at least 60 fps I'm happy. Games don't even have to look good, that's just a bonus

Yeah, my laptop isn't as powerful as yours (mine being the zephyrus G14 with an RTX 2060 Max Q) so I definitely have to choose between performance and graphics and I'll USUALLY go performance.

I'd rather play a PS1-level graphics game with superb performance, than 4K graphics at like 5 FPS.

If focusing on graphics meant I'd go below 60 fps, then I'd choose Performance, without question. Once you're used to higher fps, going back to 30 fps looks horrible.

60 all the time if available

60 vs 120? Now thats a different story.

All games should be able to hit a minimum of 60 fps and should sacrifice graphical fidelity to ensure that is the case.

As long as it hits 60 I'll up my graphics as high as possible, but with faster paced games I want to at least be at my monitors refresh rate for FPS, though ideally double that.
