They accomplish so much with that 7 minute run time. Even manage to get some tear-jerkers in at times. Dunno if this show has the same impact if you aren't a kid or parent but it's still a great show regardless with some great writing, voice acting and charming characters. Also it's great how unapologetically Australian it is! It's more genuinely Australian than any other show I've watched. Sometimes it even gets censored when it makes its way to Disney+ in the US. Bingo is one of the most precious characters of all time. I really relate to that 4 year old red heeler. Anyone else here watched this before? They changed the word 'axe' to 'toothpick' Australia changed a couple of episodes too. They changed the line 'Ooga Booga' for being racially insenstive and changed Bandit sneezing from eating Sauerkraut to burping to avoid it being a joke about allergies. Which leads to Bluey being confused at the adult dynamics of making a new friend. It was Baby Race that really caught me off guard. My daughter loves babies so an episode about a Baby Bluey was right up her alley and she's loving it. Then the end of that episode hits and I'm holding back tears. Peppa Pig is very much going for childish and absurd. The adults are all named like Daddy Pig and Mummy Pig. The jobs they have make no sense. Peppa Pig is very much a main character and is portrayed as such even when it doesn't really make sense. It's on purpose though. Like there's a character called Miss Rabbit who somehow does every job they encounter. Peppa Pig meets the Queen and it's meant to be absurd and silly. Bluey goes for more relatable subject matter. Bluey and Bingo are portrayed as normal kids dealing with normal problems. Their parents have their own lives outside of their kids and their own names. The kids games are all imaginative. The situations they end up in are all pretty relatable. The adults often are doing adult things around the kids. When toddler shows end up being the main thing on the TV I end up overthinking them lol. Oh for those parents whose kids aren't quite up to Peppa Pig yet I would recommend Shaun the Sheep. Mine basically got into it when she got into imaginative play herseld so she comprehends it now. At that age it was basically just CocoMelon IIRC lol. Thankfully shes not into cocomelon either. Have a lot of merchandise like shirt, dolls, toys etc. its genuinely funny and very poignant for a kids show. Bandit is fantastic and the show has made me tear up multiple times. Baby Rave, Grandad, etc. Dance Mode got me hooked. I was belly laughing watching that episode for the first time. Such a great show.
