The stakes felt higher, the stunts and setpieces felt grander / more impressive, and the ending made a much bigger impact (especially on an 11-year-old watching it for the first time at midnight at a friend's house, lol). Plus Raiders gets credit for revitalizing the swashbuckling action / adventure genre and putting a contemporary spin on with a blend of humor and horror that really landed with audiences. I like how that she was pretty much the complete opposite of the tough, brave, and capable Marion. I even like how it starts with a song and dance routine that doesn't make since logically.
