When's Stadium?

I remember the Pokmon Snap Stations that were at Blockbuster when I used to work there. To this day, I dont get the point of that game at all.

Its a rail shooter

This game literally already exist inside another game with the majority of pokemon already in it. Pokemon Go. You can take pictures of pokemon all day and put them in real life backgrounds. Pokemon Snap seems super dated when put up next to that. Oh, and you actually get to capture the pokemon.

But the charm of Pokemon Snap is figuring out how to photograph all the Pokemon.

This is awesome. Been wanting to play the original again.

I guess I just don't get the appeal of what snap adds. I tried it and didn't have a moment of intrigue. But, to each their own. I honestly have no idea why I even poked the fanbase. Probably cause so many people shit on Pokemon Go and I find it leagues ahead. Not a good excuse, just a reason.

I sorta get what you're saying but the appeal of Snap isn't just taking photos of Pokemon. A lot of the game is sort of a puzzle where you have to find all of them to take a photo of. It's kind of like a safari and you have some tools to try and interact or lure the Pokemon to take photos of them.

I've heard Pokmon Snap is rather notorious among N64 games for emulation issues, so given how rough games like Ocarina of Time have had it on NSO, I'm not expecting this to come out super smoothly either.

How rough was OoT even? Didnt notice anything too bad when I played. >_>

Either way kinda excited. First time I'll have played the original Snap in over a decade. It had such a cool, mysterious atmosphere.

Problem with Stadium would be you cant transfer your Pokmon to it since there is no way to use a Transfer Pak.

You know Nintendos stance on emulators, and atm I dont think they have a GBA emulator in the works for Switch (which would probably cause the price of NSO to go up even more)

Yeah, quite frankly at this point I'm *expecting* it to release with the common emulator issue where Pokemon sign photos don't get recognized as such and therefore it's impossible to unlock the Mew stage

Now that I think about it, Paper Mario is another one with known emulation issues, and didn't that one have some problems on NSO too?

I replayed Pokmon Snap last year and had a blast with it. It holds up

This game is a whole vibe. Its hard to explain but its just a cute, wholesome sort of game. I might actually buy a Switch just to play this.

It's hard for me to go back to the N64 game after playing the sequel.

I've been waiting since it was announced last year to replay this game.

I know its a short game but I think I must have finished this game 20 times as a kid.

This. It's not just taking photos. A lot of the fun was just the sense of discovery. You could go through a course multiple times and still discover pokemon that you didn't even know were there your first time through. Or using the tools you have, you could interact with the pokemon in surprising ways. Like using food to lure 2 pokemon together and then they interact with each other, instead of you. Or causing a pokemon to evolve right in front of you.

Perfect! Another opportunity to pay for a game you could play for free!

There's a points system based on the rarity, clarity, angle, etc. of your shot. You get a bunch of gadgets to manipulate your environment to make things happen. For example you can smack a charmeleon with an apple to send it into a lava pit, where it will evolve and burst out as a Charizard, which is, naturally, worth more points than a charmeleon. If you wait for it to breath fire, you gets points for it performing an action.
