Remember it? I'm still mad that EA cancelled the revamp.

Anthem had some problems, but flying around in a Javelin (the mechsuits) was fun as hell. It could have been great if they fixed it's issues.

I get Bioware wanting to try new things but this seemed way too big for a project outside of their wheelhouse

I had a friend who bought it because he would see a big new game and drop as much money on it to get the best version. Sometimes he'd buy two copies, one for him and one for another friend to play with him.

Same guy doubled down on Avengers as that game was dying a slow, undignified death. Dude just really loved backing the horse with the most marketing budget.

Game had great potential and they fucked it up hard with beyond terrible management and never actually deciding what they wanted to do with it.

I remember it's much deserved mockery.

I remember the only bug they fixed at a reasonable speed was the one where people didnt have to grind as hard for loot.

I remember it was the exact opposite of what I like about Bioware games because EA was pushing their 'always online everything MP game as service' fucking bullshit so I was happy to see that it crashed & burned.

Same. I had some great times playing it co-op, it's just a shame it got abandoned. All the hype about the cataclysms and such could have been so cool and unique and they just made it some gimmick map that came out long after the userbase had moved on.

I was hoping this was about the Japanese metal band.

Yes. The gear scaling system scaled up older weapons but it turns out the gun you start the game with had such a high base mod that when scaled up to max level it out damaged every other weapon in the game.

Reminds me a little of Hoshi Wo Miro Hito. If you don't buy any weapons, your unarmed attack does random 1-3 damage with no other calculations. But if you buy a weapon the game starts calculating enemy defense and enemies defense is so high that you end up doing less damage.

The game was fun enough and flying around was sweet but it definitely got old real fast running the same two or so dungeons/missions for loot.
