It's not just a game, it's a game I was never able to get anywhere in because it was too hard.

I remember figuring put that every level had like dozens if not hundreds of valid passwords. You could just type patterns of letters and words in the password screen and go to some level.

Didn't work in tides of time though

Which ever the one has the medusa tube level. Fuck that level. But the badass music kept me playing it

The Giger levels in the alien spaceship were trippy

I loved Ecco. The sega cd version had a damn killer soundtrack.

It's a work of art.

It's Sega as an arts studio doing what they did in their prime.

I wonder what the development process was like. The entire game was trippy as hell, super hard, dark and stylish, and kind of didn't make much sense. What was it like working on the team that made it?

Wasn't it inspired by that experiment where a guy hooked up a dolphin with a human woman, gave it LSD, locked it up in a container until it committed suicide?

Yes...that certainly clears things up. I'm sure this post is going to get modded--and rightfully so--but I can't understand what was up with the woman and the dolphin. Like...did they actually...do it, or did she just let the dolphin hump her leg or something? The fact that the same dolphin later committed suicide because of torture is just so...horrible. I didn't even know dolphins could do things like that.

I think that is enough internet for one day.

I didn't hear about the dolphin suicide, but the woman was a marine biologist studying dolphins in a specially made container that she lived in with the dolphins. The male dolphins would get horny and it was difficult for her to do her research so she decided giving them a handjob was the quickest way to get back to work...

Also, on an unrelated note, there's a group of people (mainly men) who have been promoting dolphin/human erotic bonds on the basis they dolphins are intelligent enough (-_- )
