If everyone isnt, Starbucks must not have a policy about it. So the barista is either wearing one for his own protection (which if hes a barista, makes sense), or hes trying to protect others from himself (TCs concern).
I see no reason to not assume it's the former. Also wearing a mask yourself would make possibility of any transmission very low if it's the latter (since the worker is also wearing a mask.
This is a non issue and TC is trolling

Should have been wearing a mask daily for the past few years regardless. You have no excuse not to if you live in America

Well, I mean, if everyone actually did certain things to help mitigate the spread then you wouldn't have over a million dead. Too many spending too much time squealing about their freedoms.

In 2022 TC realizes that American work society is so fucked that people are forced to come in when they're sick or risk losing their jobs. Dude also could just being careful as service industry workers have much higher risk given the number of people they interact with.

im honestly surprised mask fashion didn't take off even after we were out of the darkest of it

it's a punk as fuck look that can be very customizable

also it helps a lot with preserving privacy in public. but then again the people that claim to be especially concerned with privacy are also the ones that don't want to look like liberals, so I guess that latter is more important to them? lmfao way to hold to your ideals, boys. the one chance we all had at making public privacy 100x easier forever and you all had to fuck it up because an orange jackass told you it was stupid and you were lemmings. Smart.

Im not surprised it didnt catch on. To me, these are two opposing ideas youre trying to put together.

On the one hand, you have the people who would want to make it a fashion statement. The fashionistas if you will. These are the people who set the trends, they go on social media and post pictures of themselves. They arent going to want to cover up their faces. They adapted when it was required to wear masks, but now that its not mandatory theyre ready to show off again, and that does not include covering their faces with masks.

On the other hand, you described people who want their privacy. Now I too want privacy, but I think showing my face in public is perfectly fine. The people that want to cover their face in public for the sake of privacy are what Id consider people who want extreme privacy. The average person is perfectly fine showing their face.

So you have these two different types of people, fashionistas and extremely private people. Those two traits dont typically overlap. And so Of course it didnt become a fashion thing. Im actually surprised you thought it would.

Well I meant those two examples are why it should have taken off, but not that they would overlap, one would have taken off and the other would have fizzled

I really think if Trump didn't start being a dipshit about it that it would have taken off eventually with right-wing privacy. Maybe that was the goal all along, to stop that. Crime was 1000% harder to catch with the masks. We've become so reliant on cameras to catch people, but when most of their face is covered it becomes way way more difficult. If mask wearing took off here like it did long ago in many asian countries, way more crimes would go unsolved. Not saying privacy = crime, but it definitely allows for more crime to happen.

Scientific truth, and I just could NOT convince my elderly mother that it was true. To be fair, it's not so much that they're dirtier, it's that they're just as dirty as hands when used out and about and it's coupled with the fact that the glove wearer is less likely to use sanitizer or wash their hands when either is available

Nobody is uses gloves the way in which they are meant to be used, outside of a lab.

Like, most people who work in labs aren't even perfect at it.

Do hospitals not require masks there? Every hospital and healthcare facility where I live has required masks to this day.
