I remember printing out a collectible guide for Spiderman 2 and following vague descriptions of areas to try and collect all the skyscraper tokens.....only to somehow miss 3 and never being able to find them >_>

I printed out a guide for finding all the shards in inFamous so I could check them off one by one. Still somehow missed one and after going through the list a few more times I gave up and never played the franchise again lol

The shard hunt in the first game of was ridiculous. I was missing one more for weeks and also had to resort printing out a map and going through them one by one. I couldn't fucking believe it when I finally found it.

I remember printing out some really comprehensive FF7 guide back in middle school. The school had a laser printer students could use so use it I did.

They weren't especially happy since it was like 300~ pages or so.

The oldest guide I have printed out is the Banjo Kazooie guide by marshmallow on this site. We printed it out in either 1999 or 2000. Still have it held together by a clip, but it is quite damaged. Also had blue coins from sunshine, spiderman 2 tokens, and walkthroughs from pokemon Ruby.

Yeah. I printed out how to find the inventors, what they create, and how to do all the side stuff in star ocean 3. Printed a dark cloud 2 guide, various phantasy star online texts n' shit lol, tales of symphonia, FF9 etc.

I eventually bought the actual star ocean 3 and tales of symphonia strategy guides and even though both were nowhere near perfect they were good enough for me to get all the missables and such.

I printed out parts where I couldnt get past, but only one full guide: Metroid Prime- and that was an accident. I was young and didnt know to copy/paste into Notepad to print out only part of it. Man was my mom pissed.

I found a Command and Conquer guide I had printed out back in like '96 or '97. I should probably search my parent's house for that again before they throw it out (if they haven't already).
I mostly just saved guides for console games to the computer since I could just look at them while playing the game, but C&C had a tendency to crash if I ever minimized the window.
It is pretty crazy thinking back to what the internet was like in those days, having to connect every time you wanted to get online, not being able to make phone calls if someone was using the internet, and taking hours to download a grainy video of a video game.

I got into so many arguments with my mom because of me tying up the phone line playing phantasy star online on the dreamcast pretty much around the clock. Likewise I raged like no tommorow once one of my mom's many friends finally managed to knock me off, lmao. The dial-up days was pretty wild yet it was still crazy being able to look up info on like, anything. Internet be crazy man.

When my family finally got AT&T dsl (which was like, 2 mbs download and 0.5 mbs upload if I remember right) around the time phantasy star online ep 1 and 2 on the gamecube came out being able to stay on the internet without a caller knocking me off blew my mind, lol.

Back in 2012, I printed out guides for the Packages/USJs/Rampages/other collectables for GTA III, SA, LCS and VCS. I had the Brady Games guide for VC so I didn't need that but the SA Brady Games guide was very wrong with the Snapshots and some of the Horseshoes.

I think I had a printout for the 100 floor Tower of Druaga style dungeon embedded into Tales of Destiny. Every floor, or at least most of them, had secret triggers for spawning loot chests.

Same. Assuming it's purely a .txt document, yes I will print. I don't like referencing two screens (the game itself + whatever the FAQ is displayed on) while playing a game. One screen + paper is vastly preferable.

I typically copy the FAQ text and then paste into WordPad, then make the font size tinier, and delete the intro/filler stuff. The only issue I occasionally run into is FAQs that contain ASCII maps; I might have to adjust spacing to prevent a page break from splitting a map apart.

I never printed out a whole guide. I would just copy/paste some notes for the hard to find stuff. I used the school library's computer since I didn't have internet at home and didn't want them to suspect what I was doing so I'd keep it to 1-3 pages.

Not print, but I did save some as text documents on my PC because back in the dial-up days our internet was set to one of the "free off peak" phone numbers so we were only allowed online between 6pm and 8am, haha.
